As an model when did you first realize that you were doing what you loved? Probably Right when I Got out of high school. How long have you been in this field? About 10 years now. Have you collaborated with anyone special, if not who would you like to work with if you could? As of now not yet but have a few in mind. Just keep watching you’ll see. What is your inspiration for doing what you do? My daughter She is my everything. Is there anything you want people to know about you that most people closest to you don't know? Progressing to make it! That is what I do. I strive to be the best in my field. I fell into modeling by chance and i want to be the next guy you see on the Armani Billboards. What's the T? With Vanessa Childs By Ashia Ackov My friends and I went to Skivies for Haloween . They had some pretty good performances, But when this one chic stepped out on stage, she stole the show. Her beat was hypnotiq. She danced to a sexy remake of a classic song. She came out dressed in black, tall, Naughty girl rock style and did her thing. I told my friends she was the show and i'd really like to interview her for the magazine. And that my fellow readers, is exactly what i did. Her name is Vannesa Childs, She is a stunning androgynous performer here in Topeka Kansas. She has been modeling on and of since she was 17 but just recently taken effect to it and has been more consistent this year. Vannesa has worked with a world renowned photographer who had even done work for New york Fashion Week. " She is responsible for assisting me in getting started as an androgynous model. " Says Childs. By the way, her first time in front of the camera, the photographer told her she was a natural. Yes, Yes she is. When asked what inspires her and her style Vannesa said "My work is just a conglomerate of my own thoughts and feelings & the thoughts and feelings of others. Fashion , Art, Dance, Film... Any of the arts really." For such a vibrant spirit as she is , When we dug deep and asked her "What's the Tea" She said she struggles with self confidence everyday. "We all have standards and expectations of ourselves, the trick is not being too tough of a critic. " Says Vanessa. I totally agree. But honey, you are freakin' awesome. Mackenzie Thomas is a 16 year old model from Topeka Kansas. She is a newbie in the modeling world. She has done a few photo shoots and worked with a local photographer and is now modeling for Mismatched Misfitz Boutique full time. But unlike a majority of young girls her age, she wants you to know she is more than just a gorgeous face. Mac is a CNA Studying at Washburn tech. She is also a Junior at Seaman high school Where she has taken an interest in playing the violin and crochet work. Little does she know Crochet is huge in the fashion industry, in high demand and very profitable so right there alone, she could pursue a career in Fashion Design. However, Mackenzie is a loving and caring spirit who puts herself before others. That is why she chose a path in the medical field. "I love modeling, but it is only a side job. I'd need a reliable source of income in the future to take care of my family when i am an adult." However she says she enjoys modeling and is always open to new ideas. Mackenzie has been modeling for about 6 months and says she has always enjoyed dressing up and taking pictures, but her first time in front of the camera she was so exicted that her stomach was queasy. Although now she says she is used to it and it comes naturally to her. Well we certainitly believe that whatever this young lady sets her mind to she can accomplish. She has her prioreties in check and she is a rising star in the fashion world. Whether behind the scenes or in front of the camera.

"I’ve loved to draw since I was a young girl. Growing up, we didn’t have a lot of money, so I started drawing things that I wished I could wear. I didn’t realize there was a name for this until I was in middle school. Back then, I didn’t think becoming a fashion designer (illustrator/sketch artist) could be a possible career choice for me in the future, seeing as I was living in the midwest and knew no one in this field, but it was still my favorite past time. I would illustrate at least 13 designs a day. I have been drawing and designing almost all my life, but I just recently got started bringing my designs to life with my clothing line." Says Designer Aqueesha Hill. "When I was younger, I used to make up matching outfits I wanted the Spice Girls to wear. Later on, it was Destiny’s Child. I love music and theatrics and how it coincides with fashion. As far as my personal life, my children motivate me to keep striving for better. Without them, I don’t think I would have the courage to follow my dreams." Says Hill. For those of you that don't know, Aqueesha is the owner of Miss Honey Club & Dancewear. She is the sketch artist of many of their hottest collections and has hosted quite a few successful fashion shows in the midwest. Aqueesha's designs are both cohesive and ready to wear. Whether it be a night on the town or a stage performance . She is currently combining her talents with U.G.L.Y Girls By MMB to come up with a new collection for the runway in 2014. " To be successful in this line you have to be fair, you never know the person you screw over today may have you by the balls tomorrow. D.J. Wants you to know, She is not a DJ. She is a Sexy multi talented vixen from N.E Kansas who Dabbles into a little of everything when it comes to Art. Setting fashion trends, Modeling, Photography..She does it all. In an interview she had this to say. “I've been doing photography for a very long time and loved taking photos of people. I've only recently started trying to be on the other side of the camera and so far I like it and want to learn and do more. I've been a part of 5 "Professional" type photo shoots so far. I've gotten to know some photographers in the area, with me also doing photography myself, and that has opened up doors for people to work with. A few of my close friends do modeling as well and I have worked with them on a few occasions. There are still some of my close friends that also do modeling that I have yet to work with and really want to. My inspiration really comes from my clothes. I enjoy wearing out of the ordinary things so much. My future plans consist of an upcoming black light shoot I'm collaborating with friends on. I'm also talking to a few different photographers about some other ideas. I plan on continuing my gogo dancing at The Boobie Trap and it's always fun when people take pictures. Kapela Keeps it 100 Story by Citty Kat When asked the question: "Who would you compare your music/genre to" Kapela says he has been told he sounds like several great artist such as Wale, J cole and Drake just to name a few but he says "I just let my music guide my voice and performance but when you listen , you will know the difference." That is the type of originality that we here at AV Mag like to showcase. Kapela is an R&B/Hip Hop artist who has been singing since the age of 10, however the music bug infected him at the age of 14 that is when he realised it was something he wanted to make a career out of. He has been active in the music game for 7 years and has created hit after hit ever since. We Asked the artist what was his motivation for doing what he does. He replied " I used to do this simply for the love of it. That had kept me going for the longest time. Ever since my son was born, He has been my motivation. My main reason. Not only so i can provide for him , but to show him that the world is is and anything he sets his mind to and puts in the work, is possible." Dubai Mumba, Trublz and YBD are a few artist that Kapela has collaborated with and says he would love to work with other artist such as "Kendrick Lamar" . He is a rapper or the rise, every move he makes is money. A feisty leo from Topeka Kansas, Ko streetz is the founder of “Go get it Inc.” Yes he is a businessman at heart. He graduated from Johnson county community college in 2011 majoring in Business law. So he is street smart, book smart and knows what’s up. His motto is “Make no excuses, go get it!” That’s exactly what he does.
