Sometimes when we hear a song on the radio, we get the sudden urge to pull the car over, tie up our punk boots and start a mosh pit in the middle of traffic. Yeah, maybe that’s just me. I heard OddOMatic for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it brought that old feeling back. The group is an electro punk duo from Raytown Missouri. Mister. Xen is lead vocals, guitar, programming and Gpot is on voices and bass. After recently releasing their second album, the group has already laid down a crew of new tracks and lyrics. I have listened to all their music, a couple that i put on repeat ( for research purposes of course) and out of them all there is a new demo..” I wanna eat Audrey” that i can’t wait to see a video for. I have a feeling it is going to be epic. OddOMatic combines a strange mix of punk, hip hop, metal and dance but the lyrics come straight from the mouth of a lyrical mastermind. Xen says his sarcastic undertone stems from “everyday observations”. Who knew opening your twisted mind and spilling its contents on paper could create such musical genius. Right now, the group spend their time touring and creating videos including claymation works of art. The cover art and brilliant sketches were created by Mister Xen himself. I must say, i have interviewed several musicians, But this is the first group that combines all talent in writing, producing, singing, being able to play an instrument, hand drawn album covers AND making claymation videos!? There’s no question, everyone loves cookies. For some of us with Celiac Disease, the desserts we love are impossible to enjoy. Seems like everything we love has wheat in it some way or another. Did you know licorice is laced with gluten too? Luckily, I keep my eye out for Gluten free goodies that actually taste like the real thing. In my hunt for the perfect gluten free cookies, I have came across cookies so dry they crumble in your hand, cookies so hard they almost break your teeth and some that don’t taste like chocolate chip at all. I found Gayla’s at the mall. “Cookies by Gayla’s Claim to fame is that she is the only Bakery in the midwest with the technology to print cookies for you. She had a beautiful display of handpainted sugar cookies that caught my son’s eye. Upon taken a closer look, low and behold, i saw a bag of gluten free cookies. She had sugar, peanut butter & yes, Chocolate chip!! They were reasonable priced for fresh baked snacks. The real joy was finding out how delicious they were. Soft, chewy and chocolately. "Born in Bossier City La. Grew up in Dubach, La which is a small town outside of Ruston, La. I started at age 14 in the modeling industry. I went to Barbizon modeling school in Shreveport, La. I had a 3 year contract at career images model and talent agency in Lenexa Ks from July 2009- July 2012. I'm a single mom and have been since 2009 of two teenage boys. So i had tons of odd jobs to make ends meet. I Worked as a promotional model at Harrahs casino Kc during 2010 for “Hot Seat” as a fire girl. I’ve Had shoots with Josie Kern, Tommy Brison, Steve Wilson , Art Wilson, Tom Fox, Mismatched Misfitz, also did a small film for Lawrence art center in Lawrence ks . About two years ago i left Kansas and moved to Pensacola Florida to attend massage therapy school . I Graduated in September 2013 and I'm now a licensed massage therapist. Yes, i found a career that i am happy with. I like making people feel better, helping them relax or pain management. Even though I do miss modeling, I must admit i do a shoot every chance I get. Of course i am a true southern belle, Yet, i remain loyal to Kansas. I will see you all again.”

Elijah Keith is a 20142015 senior at Topeka high school. He is number 15 on the basketball team as a point guard. Elijah holds a 3.6 G.P.A but says he wasn't always on the right track. "I decided in 3rd grade...I was tired of getting in trouble and decided to straighten up. " says Keith. Born in KCMO, Elijah began his basketball journey when he moved to Topeka and has been playing in several leagues such as "Gimme That" and KU's Gametime . He has been involved in sports for 8 years now. His plans after high school is to attend KU and master in sports; he someday wants to become a coach himself. Anyone who personally knows Mr. Keith, would know that he is an intelligent, determined, driven and humble young man. Truly a blessing to know and interview. All eyes on Trojans #15 next year!!! ”I wake up at 7am to go to our team workouts. We have 2 hours of lifting and usually around
2hrs on the field in our position groups working on our intangibles. We then go into teams working on our stunts. After that, I would go home, get a couple hours rest, Then, leave and go with my cousin to work on my footwork and sharpening up my moves for the season after all that we head back to the weight room. That’s my routine 4 days a week.” Say Jeron. He is a Topeka High school Senior on a mission. He told me that he was inspired by his older brother James who was finishing his senior year at the time he started playing there at the high school. “I play defensive end and have been playing Football for close to 9 yrs. “ He said. “My dream school is The University of Oregon but whatever school accepts me, i will continue to play. My plan is to get a degree in marketing with a minor in finance . With a good head on his shoulders and positive outlook on life Mr. Caraway will excel in everything he decides to go after and conquer. He juggles work and play effectively and has this prediction for the upcoming Trojan Football season. “ This season will be an exciting and special season especially for the senior class of 2015. This team will be a force to be reckoned. Each individual on the team is extremely talented at what they do and they all have some sort of individual swagger about themselves that just make us exciting to watch this year. So yeah, I definitely would say for the most part this season will be spectacular!!” Go Trojans Go.

It's the middle of August, 9pm..Freshly showered with your killer outfit laid out for a night of clubbing. Your hair is amazing with not a flyaway in sight. Just gotta put on your best face...you never know who you may run into. Why not glam it up tonight? This look is called "Purple rain". Something i learned from a Jersey girl that the midwest girls can tweak and perfect for themselves. For this look, I used loreal products on our model because the H.I.P. shows up great on dark skin. 1. start with a clean face and apply your base. 2. line the very top of your lid in white. 3. cover your crease in violet, blend. 4. go right above the crease in a darker shade of purple and blend .5 apply your liquid liner. go fat, go skinny, go crazy. 6. crimp your lashes to get a slight curl. 7. apply your mascara. 8.The final thing i did was go under the brow bone with NYX cosmetics glitter eye shadow. Feel free to use your favorite products. Try something new, spice up your nightlife ladies.
