Australian International Academy Melbourne Senior Campus Congratulations to the class of 2012 on wonderful VCE and IB Diploma results. The stand-out result was the number of students who gained an ATAR of at least 99. In 2012 there were three students who achieved outstanding scores of 99.95, 99.85 and 99.35. The Dux of the Academy with a perfect IB Diploma score and the highest possible ATAR of 99.95 was Hussein Abbouchie. He was also offered the Chancellor’s Scholars program from Melbourne University to study Medicine. Hussein will also be recognised and given the Australian Student Prize by the Australian Federal government for his outstanding academic achievement. Mohammad Barakat achieved 99.85 (Dentistry) and Emil Khalid achieved 99.35 (Medicine). The above mentioned students along with Shahad Ali 98.20, Eda Gungormez - 98.20, Safa Jamshed - 98.20, and Omar Jewhar-Daud - 98.20 will be awarded with a high achievers award at the Special IB Diploma awards ceremony to be held at the Federation square later this month. Overall there were 13 students who have achieved an ATAR of at least 90. The median ATAR for all students was 66.40 and the median ATAR for IB diploma was 90.55.
