Doing research from home Children are having to find ways to entertain themselves at home during this pandemic. The University Museum, which is currently closed for renovation, is offering support in the form of its new ‘We Research’ video series. The series teaches children how to measure reaction speeds, explains the workings of an illusion and shows them how plants process water. Like real researchers, they can come up with all kinds of variations in order to explore the subject in more depth. All activities can be carried out with household items and are suitable for children aged 8 and up. Visit umu.nl/museum-online, where you will also find quizzes, stories about the collection, children’s lectures and an actual construction kit. The website is regularly updated with new activities.
