1. My biggest challenge has been being away from my support network at Kramer. The staff and students were a great source of help and encouragement, especially those in the library. I also struggled with being alone in the same space all day. Calling friends while doing mundane tasks, making small changes in my room, and getting out when possible have been my go-to solutions. 2. I finished my LLB (in the designated 4 years). But it was not fun by any stretch of the imagination. 3. ‘Being a law student during a pandemic means… crying through the pain.”

I am a 3rd year, doing a combined BA Stream. My majors are Law and Media and Writing.
1. When I was first adjusting to the ‘new normal’, I found that not being able to see my friends from UCT, as I previously had, took a massive toll. After having done online for a year now, I’ve found ways to incorporate seeing my friends into my “online schedule”, which in a way, has made us all appreciate each other more than ever before. 2. As a result of lockdown and spending so much time at home,
I’ve thankfully been able to improve on my cooking skills. 3. “Being a law student during a pandemic means ... being able to work comfortably in bed.”
