There is something about the human spirit, that makes us feel untouchable. “It will never happen to us,” we feel but dare not say, lest we are subjected to the mockery of the minds who know this truly is not the case.

There is something that told us, plagues are of the past. Pandemics continuing on their fickle pattern could never our immunity outlast

And when an angered Mother Nature chose to strike her first blow on the battlefields of Wuhan little did we know little could we prepare for humanity to crumble and bring millions to despair.

It seemed to us so foreign, entirely unforeseen. As though it had not happened since the dawn of time 1331, 1816 And now, solemnly, 2019

As city by city reached their peak “surrender” did they plea. The numbers dropped then rose once more A new world for we

Society now, As seen plenty before, Transformed beyond return. Wiser now, and more prepared We will survive whatevermore
