1. Completely disconnect the head unit from the 12v power (ACC and BATT).

2. Firstly connect the earth wire of the KCE-400BT then you can connect the ACC/BATT cables.

NOTE: The ACC cable of the KCE-400BT should ONLY be connect to the same ACC supply as the head unit!!!!!!!!!! To be 100% sure of this it is recommended to connect the ACC cable of the KCE-400BT to the very same cable as the head unit....

3. Now you can connect the KCE-400BT to the head unit with the supplied 13 pin system cable

4. Now connect the Pink/Black mute cable of the 400BT with the Pink/Black mute cable of the head unit..

5. Make sure there are no active bluetooth devices near by (see note below) before you connect to 12volts..

NOTE: As soon as the KCE-400BT is connected to BATT it is active and will be visable to other bluetooth devices, this needs to be avoided because the setup is not yet complete, it is better to make sure that there are no active bluetooth devices within range of the KCE-400BT.

1. Turn the head unit ON. (If “INTERRUPT” is not shown in the display go to step 3)…

2. If “INTERRUPT” is shown in the display, disconnect the Pink/black mute cable and carry out steps 3 to 6, then reconnect the mute cable.

3. Press and hold the “FUNC-SETUP” button (+2 seconds) to get into the setup menu.

4. Turn the volume knob until the “INT MUTE” is displayed, if this is not found go to step 7.

5. If “INT MUTE” is listed, press the “ENTER” button to get into the mute setup menu.

6. Turn the volume knob until “MUTE OFF” is displayed, now press the “ENTER” button.

7. Turn the volume knob until “BT IN” is shown in the display, then press the “ENTER” button.

8. Now “BT” is “OFF” should be shown in the display (factory setting ).

10. Now remove the nose unit and carry out a “RESET” by pressing the reset switch. Replace the nose unit and turn the head unit ON again. Press and hold the “FUNC-SETUP” button to get into the setup menu again.

11. Turn the volume knob and if everything as worked correctly after the “BT IN“ entry there should be more bluetooth set entries such as “PAIRED DEV“, “VISIBLE M“ und CLEAR DEV“. NOTE: If this is not the case carry steps 1 to 10 again!!!

12. Now turn ON the bluetooth feature in the menu of the phone you want to connect with the 400BT. And then carry out the “Search for BT devices“ from the BT menu of the phone, KCE-400BT will be shown in the list given, confirm that you want to connect to the 400BT. NOTE: Phone menus can differ from phone to phone please check the user manual for your phone!!

13. Now “PAIRING“ should be shown in the display of the KCE-400BT to shown that a connection attempt is being made.

14. The “CODE 0000“ will be shown in the display of the head unit, this is the code you have to enter in the pop up message shown on the phone.

15. Once the code is entered (Step 14) the display of the head unit will show “CONNECTING“

16. When the connection is successfully completed “CONNECTED” will be shown in the display of Head unit.

17. Once all the above steps have been successfully completed, press the “PHONE“, and “UPDATING“ will be displayed, the lenght of time “UPDATING“ is displayed varies from phone to phone..

18. Once updating is complete the following options should be available: “PHONE BOOK“, “MISSED CALLS“, “DIALED CALLS“, “RECEIVED CALLS“ (Depending on compatibility)..
