Tell Us Your Story: It was Sunday, October 29th, 2017. I had a normal weekend leading up to that Sunday. I went to brunch with one of my girls and that evening, my boyfriend and I went to his mom’s for dinner. We were in the basement watching football. I remember telling my boyfriend and his mom that the baby felt lower than normal and that I was experiencing pain in my lower abdomen. It literally felt like his feet were already in my womanly area! My boyfriend and I headed home so that I can rest and prepare for work the next day; so I thought. When we made it home, the pain increased and so did my anxiety! I tried to continue to remain calm and prepare myself for work. While doing so, I looked up symptoms and tried to ease my anxiety by thinking I was just experiencing “Braxton Hicks”.

Just as I started to get more comfortable, & by now my boyfriend and I are in bed. The pain became unbearable. I started to panic. I became frantic and questioned how could I possibly be in labor and why?! We headed to the hospital shortly after. My pain had increased more and the contractions were even closer together. It was about 10pm or so. My son was born at 1am, October 30th, 2018. His due date was February 10, 2018\. Needless to say, I was numb and a ball of emotions for months. Unsure if my son would live or what the outcome would be. He spent 3 months in the NICU. Each day he made progress. He started breathing on his own, gaining weight, crying, pooping; signs of a healthy baby! We brought him home in January & life began! It’s been such an amazing journey loving my baby to health! I wrote my first children’s book, Miracle Malcolm, inspired my by son’s journey, while being a stay at home mom. I wrote Miracle Malcolm in order to share our story and to raise contribute in raising awareness on premature births. Malcolm has grown and progressed amazingly by God’s Grace!He’s definitely our Miracle Malcolm!

It definitely has not been a smooth road. My main struggle with Miracle Malcolm was getting the finances in order to successfully complete the book in the time frame that I had set out for. I wanted my book completed with all illustrations and self publishing by November 17th (World Prematurity Day). In order to keep deadlines I had to really sacrifice and invest a lot into my vision. I had switched self publishing companies in the midst of starting due to the company not being able to satisfy my exact deadline. Thankfully, the self publishing company I went with was able to provide great work with awesome turnaround times!
Tell Us About Your Business. Miracle Malcolm will be a children’s book series to share my son’s journey through being born prematurely! Our first book in an introduction into his life and the start of his journey. Miracle Malcolm is also an advocate for spreading premature awareness and providing facts/information on prematurity. I’m most proud to be telling a real story and being transparent along the way! We are providing our truth in order to help other mom/families and provide hope along the way! What sets us apart would be our value to not only provide a helping hand in the health of our babies, but their education as well!

advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
My advice would be to continue to push through no matter what! Never let the fear of rejection stop you from reaching your goals! Your goals should be more important than your sensitivity.
Any Future Plans? My plans would be to connect with March of Dimes, which is a known organization to help families with premature babies. Also, to partner with the NICU departments in local/national hospitals. So far, I’ve connected with my local NICU and there are plans set for upcoming events! I plan to also release my second book Spring 2020!

Dany Griffiths I did a hypnotherapy and counseling diploma in 2000 when I was 30yo following a prolonged illness with glandular fever, divorce and my dad dying of cancer, which led me to finally challenge the feeling of being trapped in a life I didn’t want to be living, particularly my HR Career.I found myself drawn to working in birthing initially and later went on to create The Wise Hippo Birthing Program In 2013 which is taught by over 300 private instructors across 12 different countries. The Wise Hippo Birthing Program is also taught by midwives within some NHS Trusts in the UK. I began working with Fertility in 2007. I did not have my own fertility struggle although I watched my best friend Sarita go through one for over 10 years. It was a desire to support her that led me to train in Hypno Fertility, which primarily focused on using the mind to help with pregnancy success.I am very happy to say that I have been able to help Sarita and over 90% of my clients become pregnant and have their longed-for baby.

However, I very quickly began to realized that there was another problem EQUAL to the desire to get pregnant that my clients were facing and needed help with.This was that their intense desire to have a baby that was going unfulfilled month after month, year after year, was having both a short and long-term effect on their mental health and the ability to live a fulfilling life. Worse, that this impact had the potential to continue even after fertility success.I was already supporting clients through their emotional journey from pregnancy to parenting so it made complete sense to me to bring this into my fertility work, which is how the Freedom Fertility Formula was born. I launched the training for Freedom Fertility Formula Specialists in March 2018 and currently have just under 60 specialists either qualified or in training. It’s taken me quite a few years to make the complete link between my deeper passion of supporting strong mental health and emotional well-being and why I am so drawn to working with couples with their fertility struggles and then on through their journey once pregnant.

Whilst's not an infertility journey, I believe the connection comes from the struggle and difficult feelings around my mum's journey when pregnant with me and where that led.It’s a journey of loss and deep emotion and whilst a different kind of loss than grieving for the loss of a baby a person’s not yet had, it is a story of family.This is how for me my story connects with the work that I do.My mum lost my biological dad when she was 8 months pregnant with me, which of course was incredibly hard for her. I strongly believe though that the way it then impacted on our lives for years to come, could have been very different if she knew what I now teach around understanding emotions.I found out the above at 16yo, which meant the man I thought was my biological dad turned out not to be so. It didn’t make him any less my dad though and it was a wonderful lesson for me in how ‘blood is most definitely not thicker than water’ and that families are made up in all different ways.Those first two points messed me up big time and I thought there was something really wrong with me. But I hid how I was feeling from everyone and silently struggled alone for years, much like those struggling with infertility often do.When I FINALLY got help, I wished I’d reached out many years before.Although I haven’t had my own fertility struggle the wonderful thing about working with emotions is that when we support from a place of empathy, we realize we don’t have to feel what another person feels to be able to acknowledge and help them with their pain. The transformation I’ve seen with my own clients and the clients of my Freedom Fertility Formula Specialists shows me that this is true. We are seeing great results with clients getting pregnant and as importantly for those that have not yet achieved that, they have been able to reclaim emotional control of their fertility journey. My favourite client quote being “I came for a baby and I got my life back”.
Initially I set out seeking change for myself so I viewed growing a business as an organic process. I was still working in my HR career so it was less about earning money and more about ‘filing me up’. Even when my daughter Evan was born in 2007 and I went fully self-employed, I never saw growing the business side as a challenge in fact more an exciting journey, not least of which because I love to learn. I simply worked out what the minimum was I needed to earn and focused on that and things grew from there. The challenge came with emotional struggle. Which gratefully has served me in how I put together my programs to help others. Initially the challenge came from growing my client facing business with a new born baby, who would never let me put her down and didn’t sleep unless she was with me for the first year of her life. After that waking at the latest at 5am for years and needing constant attention throughout the day and having no support. Then finding that all my old anxieties around not fitting in were magnified by going to mummy groups and having a child that also didn’t seem to fit in.
HAS YOUR BUSINESS JOURNEY BEEN EASY? "Getting the balance right between growing my businesses, my daughters needs, my husband’s and my own was a constant battle." I was dealing with a lot of anxieties that as per my usual way of dealing with things I was hiding from everyone. Pretending I was OK and silently screaming out that I was not. I did work with a parent coach though as I’ve always believed in getting professional help and I felt I was failing as a mother. That coach kept asking me to tell her what I wasn’t saying.

The Inside Scoop
Challenges Dany Overcame Getting the balance right between growing my businesses, my daughters needs, my husband’s and my own was a constant battle. I screamed a lot, I beat up on myself a lot. I was shattered all of the time and the thing that kept ending up on the bottom of the pile was me. I have a saying that my head carries on like all is ok and my body takes the strain and it has. Much like when I had glandular fever in my 20s though, when it has had enough it shuts me down. Now my daughter is in week day residential school I feel like I have broken free from the emotional prison that I talk about with my clients. I’m amazed at what I’ve managed to achieve despite all that and now it’s time for me to step up a level for myself and my business.

What I never said was that I felt like there was something ‘going on’ with Evan outside of what was considered ‘normal’ behavior for her age but I also thought that maybe I was making up excuses for myself. As it turned out Evan was later diagnosed with ASD and ADHD amidst many other diagnoses. Evan struggles greatly with modulation and emotional control which meant she couldn’t cope at school and with no help from our local authority we went on to home educate her from 6yo to 11yo. We realized though that we weren’t able to get her the right educational and therapeutic support without getting her back in school. We therefore then had to go through an 18 month legal battle ending up in a tribunal, all at horrendous time and cost to get what was rightfully hers. Which thankfully we did.
The Freedom Fertility Formula is focused on reducing the mental anguish of infertility, to improve lives and support pregnancy success. I am on a personal mission to put taking care of mental health and emotional wellbeing at the forefront of fertility care by collaborating with private fertility clinics. My longer term plan is to make the Freedom Fertility Formula more accessible by getting private healthcare providers to recognize it as a service and for NHS Trusts to get on board too. I’ve just returned from Clinica Tambre in Madrid who reached out to me after finding out about the Freedom Fertility Formula through the Fertility Show in Manchester (a number of my FFF Specialists were speaking there). They are choosing to collaborate with us as they too recognise there is a lack of emotional well-being support and that this can be detrimental to both their clients success and their well-being. The Reproductive Healthcare Group are also working with a number of my Freedom Fertility Formula Specialists and I’m in conversations with other clinics so progress is being made there.

I am working with my ‘Freedom Elite Team’ both in the UK and internationally to help raise awareness about the work that we do. This is not something I can do alone.

About Freedom Fertility Formula The Freedom Fertility Formula uses a unique combination of coaching, counseling and mind/body techniques which enables us to help clients reclaim emotional control of their fertility journey whilst still holding space for their desire for a baby to come into their lives. Much of what is available focuses purely on pregnancy success and I get why, it’s what those struggling want and the work that we do helps with that too. However, the fact that people’s lives are on hold and they are suffering mentally and emotionally whilst living in the wait breaks my heart. Pregnancy success also will not happen for everyone and for some they have to deal with repeated losses, I want to help people handle the difficulties of those journeys too. We help individuals get off the downward cycle of despair which is of utmost importance because when the focus is only on getting pregnant, unless that happens relatively quickly when working with someone/something new, every thing a person does to try and get pregnant will take them ever further down that cycle which for many ends in hopelessness and depression.We are on a mission to change that.
I want to work on getting comfortable with being visible, therefore the business mentor I have chosen to work with next year is someone who is sh*t hot on mindset and messaging. I’m currently also working on how to scale up which means looking to my international team to take on Freedom Fertility Formula Specialist training and ongoing support in their regions. Although I will aim to travel to meet with them face to face to help get set up (it is a tough job but someone has to do it đ&#x;˜œ). The materials are currently being translated into Spanish so we can also launch Freedom Fertility Formula LATAM. I am working on a strategy for engaging with fertility clinics and aim to reach out to the private health care groups as well this year, as I see both of these as a big opportunity for helping the potential clients see the value in working with a Freedom Fertility Formula Specialist. I will be increasing the amount of content marketing I do which is purely aimed at serving those struggling. Not everyone will choose to work with a Freedom Fertility Formula Specialist I accept that. if I can keep making small incremental changes to people’s lives though then that is something. Also the more I help in this way hopefully they will give Freedom Fertility Formula the chance to help them in a bigger way. Exciting and also scary times ahead, although as fear and excitement feel very similar in the body I will put it all down to excitement. After all there is no such thing as failure only lessons to be learned, therefore no matter what I achieve this year as long as I look back and know that I made my best efforts I will be happy. Advice For Aspiring Entrepreneurs?
Understand from the outset that it takes hard work and consistently showing up to grow a business. That along with the highs you will experience lows. You will wonder if you’ve got what it takes and have self-doubts along the way about whether you can do it or maybe even should be doing it. Potentially why you even started it. If you know though that you’ve got a way to make a difference in this world and you are deeply passionate about that on whatever scale is right for you, then go for it. I promise you it’s worth it both for you and the lives of those you touch. Also find the right people to support you along the way including those you pay for. It’s a lonely road to travel by yourself and if you do then you will never reach your full potential or business growth.

5 keys to success 1) Be on time. In fact, arrive early for appointments and meetings. Plan time milestones in your daily schedule that tell you when to begin transferring to an appointment. That is, note when you will stop working on a task, begin collecting resource materials, and start traveling. Allow time for delays in travel, especially if driving. Consider: The fastest way to destroy people's trust in you is to waste their time.
2) Communicate with others. Answer your phone and return phone calls. Listen carefully and completely when people talk to you. Show an interest in others before telling about yourself. When making phone calls devote all of your attention to what the other person is saying (instead of time sharing with other tasks, such as checking e-mail or playing computer games). Phone others only when you can devote full attention to what the other person is saying. Consider: ignoring people is rude and unprofessional.
3) Plan projects. For example, always prepare an agenda for meetings. Contact key participants before the meeting to hear their views, solicit suggestions for agenda items, and coach them on how to prepare for the meeting. Send agendas far enough before the meeting so that people have time to prepare. Consider: Bad meetings demonstrate an inability to provide leadership.
4) Be courteous. Find the good in everyone. Compliment others. Avoid starting or listening to gossip. Never ridicule, insult, or make fun of other people. Use positive words, always speaking about what you want and how you want things to be. Avoid suggesting motives or assigning judgments for other people's actions and views. Consider: Discourtesy damages all relationships.
5) Help others. Be a mentor for newcomers. Share ideas. Teach people skills that will help them excel. Work with a spirit of abundance. Seek win/win results. Let others speak first, even on issues where you are an expert. Give first without attaching a receipt for return favors. Consider: Selfish people end up working harder.

If you’re already innately good at something, or have a skill set, embrace it. Don’t try to be all things for all aspects of your business. Hire out or sign contracts with agencies for the things you can’t do, and focus on your strengths as quickly and often as possible. Don’t be a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none.

INTERVIEW WITH JESSICA BAKER TELL US YOUR STORY Aligned Signs is about self-discovery, selfreflection, and self-awareness, and this perfectly captured what was going on in my life. I had recently quit my previous job, filed for divorced, and decided to make a fresh start and move across the country. I was in search of peace, which I didn’t feel I had, despite the tremendous amount of time, energy, and effort I had expended. I realized that the common denominator was me, and if I wanted things to be different, then I needed to change them. I searched for guidance and that’s when I came across everything from ancient wisdom to modern psychology. It is my personal opinion that there are two words that are the driving force behind you personally achieving your ultimate outcome and your WHY in Life. These two words are the most powerful words that you can and will ever speak to yourself about any situation - "CAN" and "CAN'T" As I've said many times, "CAN" is a word of power; whereas, "CAN'T" is a word of retreat. You have the power to decide if you wish to ACHIEVE or RETREAT, because when you speak victory words such as "I CAN", you will attain whatever you set out to do regardless of what others are saying to you. There are many famous entrepreneurs in the world such as Ray Kroc, Fred Astaire, Walt Disney and Dick Clark. I can attest to the fact that if you spoke with each of them individually, they would tell you that in the beginning of their journey the majority of people told them ----you CAN'T do that! Fortunately, they disregarded these statements and listened to their inner voice, who said, "Oh yes I CAN!"
The key in life is to realize the most important person who speaks to you every day is you on the inside! You need to review your WHY in Life and see if your are on track toward achieving your WHY, or are you on a detour because someone told you, "You CAN'T do that so stop dreaming and just forget about it!" As a personal mindset builder, you need to speak to your inner person and say to yourself, "Today I will take another productive stride!" Each morning, I visualize myself winning. My personal outcome for each day is to build a community of people who I can inspire and motivate all of us to make the world a better place in which we live. I have to admit if it was not for my inner person saying, "Meagan, you CAN do it! YOU CAN do it!" I may not be in the position of success that I am today. Some days it is still difficult, but guess what -- I AM doing it! In summary, you need to ask yourself a very honest question, "Am I listening to my victory words from the inside or am letting the outer defeat (loser) words control my outcome in life?".
