Alpha-ville 2010

Visionary Cities

DAY 1 Programme

Friday 17th September @ the Whitechapel Gallery - London

Visionary Cities Welcome to Alpha-ville, London's new International Festival of Digital Arts, Music and

Culture. We have prepared a jam-packed agenda of two evenings with groundbreaking live music and visual performances including advanced electronic music, live cinema, interactive media installations, 3D visual performances, a moving image competition and a screening programme.

”OUR CITIES ARE IN CRISIS AND THEIR FUTURES DEPEND ON ARCHITECTS AND URBANISTS WHO ARE WILLING TO LOOK BEYOND TODAY’S REALITIES TO DRIVE THE DIRECTION FOR

OUR INCREASINGLY URBAN WORLD. CONTEMPORARY CITY DESIGN IS FULL OF OBSTACLES STANDING IN THE WAY OF VISIONARY THINKING. IT IS TIME FOR US TO TAKE A POSITION ON HOW WE WANT TO LIVE IN THE FUTURE…IT IS TIME FOR A VISIONARY CITY”. (FROM THE BOOK “VISIONARY CITIES” BY THE WHY FACTORY, 2009).

Under the theme 'Visionary Cities' this 2010 edition is opening a discourse about the city

and society of the future as seen through the eyes of artists and participants. The festival will be a live and virtual itinerary for you to discover. Enjoy these 2 days and we hope to see you back again next year!
