INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL RECRUITMENT PROCESS Recently, the Interfraternity council adopted an open structured recruitment process. This means organizations have the opportunity to recruit year round and extend bids at anytime. This new system allows chapters and potential members the opportunity to develop stronger relationships before a bid is given or received. We encourage you to explore all of the fraternal organizations MTSU has to offer and meet as many chapters as possible before accepting a bid. Any event listed on this calendar is open for you to attend. No RSVP is necessary. Feel free to just show up! If you are more comfortable reaching out to a recruitment chair or chapter president before attendance, no problem! See the contact information on this page. Lastly, it is important that you know fraternity recruitment is an alcohol free process. No one in any way connected to the fraternity may serve or partake of alcohol or other illegal substances in the presence of a potential member. No potential member may be in possession of alcohol at any time during recruitment/ recruitment events. Any potential member violating the recruitment rules is subject to suspension from the recruitment process and may not be allowed to join a fraternity. MEET THE INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL EXECUTIVE BOARD! During the mid-1800’s, men attending institutions of higher education realized the need for teaching in life and not just academics. Thus, fraternal organizations were formed with ideals centered on brotherhood, leadership, scholarship, and service. At MTSU, there are 12 fraternities. The Interfraternity Council acts as a selfgoverning body to these organizations and promotes the valuable opportunities each chapter offers.
