ALLEN HIGH SCHOOL CAPTURES SECOND PLACE IN PRESTIGIOUS LONE STAR CUP

Reflecting Allen ISD’s commitment to a culture of excellence, Allen High School placed second in the prestigious University Interscholastic League (UIL) Lone Star Cup for 20222023.

“This achievement reinforces our SOAR 2030 goals and is a testament to the hard work and talent of our students, coaches and educators,” said Superintendent Dr. Robin Bullock. “Our achievements reflect the commitment of our parents and staff in preparing our students for future successes.”

In class 6A, The Woodlands Highlanders earned 117 points, finishing ahead of Allen High School with 98 and Carroll at 90.

The UIL Lone Star Cup considers performance in various competitions, including academics athletics and fine arts events. For a school to rank highly, excellence is required in several competitions throughout the school year.

Allen High School’s success reflects a community and district commitment to fostering high levels of academic, athletics, and fine arts achievements for all students.

At the heart of Allen High School’s success lies a strong academic commitment to launch students into successful careers in school and beyond. The Academic Team’s state championship reflects the strength of the district’s pursuit of educational excellence.

The Eagles also advanced in the competition with a state championship in Wrestling. Additionally, Eagle teams advanced far enough into the playoffs to score Cup points. Those teams were Football, Baseball, Basketball, Volleyball, Golf, Swimming & Diving, Soccer, Track and Field, and Tennis.

In addition to academics and athletics, Allen High School’s Fine Arts programs have consistently placed highly in competitions. The school’s choir, orchestra, band, and theater teams have received individual performance accolades in addition to the musical groups placing high in state rankings, showcasing the depth of talent within the school’s fine arts community.

The Lone Star Cup program began during the 1997-98 school year. The program recognizes high schools for their overall team achievements. All UIL member high schools in good standing are included and in contention for the UIL Lone Star Cup.
