DRESS - CLASSIC - CORDOVAN
DRESS - CLASSIC - CORDOVAN CORDOVAN Many people mistake cordovan as a color, but it is actually a rare kind of leather. Our cordovan leather is sourced from Horween, a Chicago-based tannery established in 1905 and one of the last remaining – and arguably one of the finest – cordovan tanneries in the world. Cordovan is especially popular throughout Europe where men don a pair of cordovan shoes, not just for work, but also as their Sunday best “church shoes.”

Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its different properties. To remove any natural oils or residue in areas where the shoe flexes, and to maintain the leather’s quality, simply brush the leather with a horsehair shine brush or wipe with a cotton flannel polishing cloth. Polish occasionally with Allen Edmonds Cordovan Care Cream to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.
