alexander milligan ’96 (alexdmselects@optonline.net) has been working with his father since 2006 as a Wine Importer at their family company David Milligan Selections. He is now Vice-President. He writes “We focus on terroir driven wines from France. Our most popular at the moment is Domaine Houchart Rosé which is a bestseller in many states across the country. We will be introducing two new vineyards in the fall. I travel regularly for my job and also for fun. I am going to France in September to learn about winemaking with one of my vineyards.”
kevin Quat ’96 (kevin@absoluteisland.com) his wife Gini, and son Zack (born 2010) live in Hilton Head, SC. They both work in real estate and own a property management company which specializes in multifamily housing and development. Lately, they are juggling their 2 year old, family, friends, work and fun. Kevin remembers A-S fondly and hopes future generations enjoy their time there. He says “feel free to look us up when in our area!”
will schutt ’96 (wcschutt@gmail.com) has been awarded the Yale Young Poets Prize 2012. His volume Westerly will be published by Yale as part of the Yale Series of Younger Poets in April 2013. Awarded since 1919, the prize celebrates the most prominent new American poets by bringing the work of these artists to the attention of the larger public. Earlier winners of the prize include such talents as Adrienne Rich, John Ashbery, and Robert Hass. It is the longest-running poetry prize in the United States. After leaving A-S, Will earned his BA from Oberlin College and his MFA from Hollins University. His poems and translations appear in Agni, FIELD, Harvard Review, The Southern Review and elsewhere. He lives with his wife in Wainscott, NY.
rob Farren ’97 (rfarren1@gmail.com) recently released a new album entitled “All Rivers and Oceans” by his two-piece band Isle of Rhodes. The band’s first studio length album was recorded with Grammy winning producer Jason Corsaro (Steve Winwood, Duran Duran, Motorhead, Madonna) and co-producer David Lloyd of Social Hero.
clarence Fruster ’97 (jah13c13@gmail.com) and Jaison spain ’97 (jspain@allen-stevenson.org) are part of a New York based soul band called “The Blackness” with friend Yuri Beats. Check out their debut album, “HeartShaped Lens.”
