Pablo Legorreta
Michael serves as an independent financial advisor to companies and government organizations, and as a Special Advisor to the United Nations World Food Program.
Pablo is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Royalty Pharma, a biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industry leader in acquiring revenue-producing intellectual property. The firm works with academic and research institutions, inventors, and life science companies to monetize existing royalties and fund product development. Previously, Pablo was Vice-President of Lazard Frères, working in New York and Paris. He has also worked for several companies in Mexico.
He served as a private advisor to the Government of the United Kingdom in responding to the financial market crisis. He was amongst the leadership of the working group tasked with drafting and implementing the UK’s Bank Recapitalization Program, which provided a framework shared by other governments around the world. Michael was previously the Chairman of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group and Vice Chairman of Citi, Inc. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing the Bank’s relationships with leading companies, investment funds, and governments. Michael is a member of various boards including: the Board of The Dow Chemical Company Agrosciences, IHS Inc., the Peterson Institute for International Economics, the American Academy of Berlin, and the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is also a member of the Harvard Belfer Center and the Trilateral Commission. He graduated in 1985 with a BS, Cum Laude, from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
Alex Roepers Born in The Hague, The Netherlands, Alex completed his BBA at Nijenrode University, the Netherlands School of Business, before moving to the U.S. to work at Dover Corporation in New York. He graduated with an MBA from Harvard University. After four years as Director of Corporate Development at Thyssen-Bornemisza Group, Alex founded Atlantic Investment Management, a global equity hedge fund firm.
He is a graduate of Mexico City’s Universidad Iberoamericana, from which he earned his degree in Industrial Engineering. Pablo is a director or member of a variety of professional associations. His deep interest in children’s health leads him to serve on the Research Council of Boston Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Circle of Care, which encompasses the leading benefactors to 20 of the leading hospitals for children in the U.S. and Canada.
In the past year, Alex has been an advisor to Allen-Stevenson for financial and investment matters. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at The Brearley School, where he has been actively involved with the endowment, the school’s finances and fund raising. Other outside interests include the Dutch Maritime Museum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the Museum of the City of New York, the Special Projects Committee of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Spyker Cars N.V.
Pablo and his wife, Almudena, a professional photographer whose work was the basis of AllenStevenson's calendar last year, are parents of Pablo, who is a member of Allen-Stevenson's Seventh Grade, and Marina who is in Fifth Grade at The Hewitt School.
Alex has three children: Jackie and Paige, respectively a Junior and seventh grader at Brearley, and Harry, a fourth grader at AllenStevenson.
Beth and Michael are parents of second grader Jack and daughter Kate, a fourth grader at The Dalton School.
