Peter Ivan Margolis ’78 of Corte Madera, California passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on September 20th, 2009, according to the Marin Independent Journal. Michael Schiff ’79 (schiffym@aol.com) visited the school with Bonita, had a baby girl, Mia Belle, born August 28, 2009. She joins brother, Nelson, who is in Kindergarten at AllenStevenson and brother, James.

1980s Paul Aston ’80 (paul_aston@earthlink.net) and his wife, Mary Eliza, had a baby boy, Blake Hunter, last July. Paul is a mathematical economist who trades quantitative currency strategies at Morgan Stanley. He writes: “I am still composing (when I have the time) and playing the guitar, bass and keyboards.” Paul played in the alumni hockey game last December.

Previously, he spent twelve years as a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers. “My wealth management practice at Barclays includes private business owners, private investors and corporate executives. I earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law. I am married with four children and live in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ.” Chris Weitz ’84 was a producer of Tom Ford’s film “A Single Man,” based on a novel by Christopher Isherwood, and starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. Firth was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor and the movie was an Official Selection at the Toronto, Tokyo and London film festivals. Kris Tate Haber ’85 joined (stealthkth@graffiti.net) Threadneedle Investments (a UK based

investment manager) in November 2009 as President of North America and Global Head of Alternative Investments. He previously worked at Lazard for 14 years where he was Managing Director, Head of Alternative Investments. Between jobs, he took six months off during which he practiced his kite surfing skills in the Dominican Republic, Outer Banks and in the Hamptons. Polo Dobkin ’87 (polodobkin@gmail.com) Grub Street reported in February: “Forget the Oscars, folks. The semifinalists for the chef and restaurant categories of the James Beard Foundation Awards (the Oscars of the restaurant industry, natch) have been announced. Here’s who the Beard’s mystery panel of 400 judges have selected as the crème de la crème among the 21,000 entries submitted online starting late last year…. A surprise in the Best Chef: New York City category: Polo Dobkin of Dressler, one of many who’ll get a big recognition boost from the nom.” Lewis Liebert ’88 (liebert@performanceflightny.com) and his wife, Emily, welcomed son Jaxsyn Alvin Liebert on October 14, 2009 at 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and 21 inches long. They live in New Rochelle, and Lewis runs a flying school called Performance Flight.
