Fall Season Our Cross Country team competed on Wednesday, November 6, in the championship race at Van Cortlandt Park. With a field of 153 runners, AllenFall Stevenson placed one runner in the top ten, five in the top fifty, and eight in the top hundred. Perhaps more importantly, eighty percent of our runners posted personal bests in the race. Soccer finished the season with impressive wins over four peer schools. With more than half the team returning next season, the coaching staff will look to build upon experience and recent success as they plan for the future. Flag Football, in the fourth year at A-S, has quickly built a reputation as a very competitive team. Finishing the season with seven wins, three losses, and one tie, the team posted another winning season. As with our other teams, we have a solid core coming back next year, and the staff expects to continue the winning streak.

“What a fantastic season for our boys, school, and community. The livestream of our championship game attracted three hundred views,” said Coach Alifano.

Winter Winter Season What an exciting winter season for the Varsity Basketball team! The boys captured significant wins. As the season approached its end, the team sat tied for first place and needed a win against St. Bernard’s for the League Championship. Given that both teams understood the importance of the game, the energy and effort from both teams from the opening tip was at championship level. Coaches from both teams emphasized the importance of ball possession and rebounding, imploring their players to dig deep and find that extra effort; it was a joy to watch! Unfortunately, when the final buzzer sounded, the A-S Blue and Gold came up a few points short of a victory. Although our boys were understandably disappointed, the postgame locker room was filled with a real sense of family, accomplishment, and pride. Like any team that makes a shared commitment to work tirelessly and together in order to accomplish their goal, players develop a trust and love for each other that often lasts a lifetime. The wrestling season this year taught the boys the power of resilience and perseverance. We couldn’t be prouder of the grit our wrestlers showed this season. The Junior Varsity Basketball team consistently showed heart and determination, and each boy showed improvement and progress from game to game.
