From the age of 8, I was shown the world. My parents believed it was important to grow up understanding the nuances of different cultures, so I was shuttled to countries in the hopes that I would appreciate and accept the world through a larger lens. Every nation I went to and every person I encountered revealed to me how design can completely alter people’s lives and how it can either parallel or revise the culture surrounding it. Because of these experiences, I now strive to be a designer who will create in a way that enhances my surroundings without taking away from the antiquity of the society and without using resources that hinder others from doing the same.
