The Broadmoor Winter Polo Classic Returns in 2024 THE BROADMOOR WINTER POLO CLASSIC RETURNS TO THE NORRIS Penrose Event Center on February 24, 2024, rekindling a rich tradition that once graced the region nearly a century ago. This event, a collaboration between The Broadmoor and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, pays homage to the resort's founder, Spencer Penrose, an ardent polo enthusiast. Penrose's legacy, which included The Broadmoor Polo Association and The Penrose Polo Park, once boasted a thriving polo culture with multiple fields on the resort's grounds. The 2023 edition of the Broadmoor Winter Polo Classic marked a resounding comeback. More than 800 spectators witnessed a thrilling showdown between The Penrose Polo Team and Emerald Valley Polo. The 2024 event promises to be equally exciting, offering special accommodation packages, VIP seating, and transportation options. SOARING INTO THE NEW YEAR WE ENJOYED A BANNER YEAR CELEBRATING THE 140TH anniversary of The Broadmoor Seven Falls—a natural attraction known as the “Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado.” Our mascot, Chester the Chipmunk, made a return, as did larger-than-life chipmunk sculptures intricately decorated by local third graders and displayed along the walking trail to the base of the falls. Participating schools also enjoyed a fun-filled field trip to Seven Falls, complete with delectable treats from Falling Waffles food truck, featuring homemade ice cream from the Broadmoor Creamery. And there’s more fun in store! Visit Seven Falls in 2024 to enjoy hiking trails, The Broadmoor Soaring Adventure, and Restaurant 1858 at the base of the falls, featuring wood-fired cuisine and more.

Bordering the Lost Creek Wilderness, this wilderness enclave promises a truly unique and unforgettable fly fishing experience. The property is set along a private, picturesque five-mile stretch of Colorado's renowned Tarryall River. Daily fishing excursions include expert guides and top-of-the-line equipment for guests to land a variety of trout, including wild, brown, cutthroat, rainbow, tiger, and brook. In addition to the exceptional fishing opportunities, guests can immerse themselves in the surrounding natural beauty by enjoying activities such as hiking, bird watching, lawn games, and the chance to witness some of Colorado's most magnificent wildlife. Accommodations are in seven meticulously renovated historic cabins nestled among the towering pine trees. The all-inclusive camp provides delicious meals in the Main Lodge, where guests can also gather for drinks and appetizers. “These Boots Are Made for Wading” is an exclusive fly fishing retreat just for women at The Broadmoor’s Fly Fishing Camp. Designed for anglers of all skill levels and endorsed by Orvis, the leader in fly fishing equipment, gear, and training, the weekend retreat aims to get more women on the water to learn and enjoy the satisfying sport of fly fishing. An allinclusive, two-night stay costs $2,500 based on single occupancy or $2,800 based on double occupancy (plus applicable service charges and taxes). All equipment is provided. The Broadmoor Estate House is a 12,000-square-foot, five-bedroom residence on The Broadmoor’s main campus surrounded by lush, meticulously landscaped gardens and lawns. This exquisite historic residence provides a timeless backdrop for romantic wedding celebrations and ample space for families to celebrate together. Each of the estate’s five bedrooms features a king or two queen beds and a private bathroom. Broadmoor chefs may also be engaged to prepare an intimate meal in the home’s gourmet kitchen, served in the formal dining room, which seats 16 guests. The grand parlor can accommodate 60 people for seated dinners or 120 for receptions. The nearby Broadmoor Brownstones, each with two bedrooms, offer additional options for luxurious residential-style lodging. Unwind next to the fire in the elegant living room or entertain in the formal dining room, adjacent to a gourmet kitchen, that opens onto a private terrace. On the fourth floor, a casual lounge opens onto a large patio with an outdoor fireplace and magnificent mountain views. Each of the charmingly appointed Broadmoor Cottages, available in one- to eight-bedroom configurations, features inviting parlors with high-beamed ceilings, wood floors, natural stone fireplaces, and spectacular views of the East Golf Course and Cheyenne Mountain.
