Chief Executive's Welcome

GROWTH…

Welcome to Issue 3 of our ConnectED magazine, where we bring you stories from our members and local businesses. This time we’re focussing on growth, which as you will read, means many different things to many people.

We have waved Dan Cargill off with our very best wishes for his new job and welcomed Jagroop Singh into our team as Membership Services Manager. We’ve also expanded our International Trade and Export Documentation Services capacity, bringing on board Dave Adamson and Katie Preston to new roles as International Trade Assistants.

Jeremy Parker of NFU Mutual joined our Board of Directors at our AGM and he brings us a wealth of experience and business connections. As a graduate of the Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership programme, Jeremy will support us on many initiatives, such as connecting us to business leaders who are championing rural diversity and innovation.

We’re also working on bringing the Chamber story to life and launched our first official video, produced with one of our members, Son of the Sea. Having members talking about how much they value their relationship with us, the many personal and business benefits that come with that and telling the stories of why we’re proud to do what we do – that’s a very powerful message.

We also launched our Team Values after holding a session with some of our members to get a sense of how they felt that the values fit with us as a business, and as an organisation that is here to support and help businesses grow in Dundee and Angus.

I am very proud to lead a Chamber which believes in being SUCCESSFUL, SUPPORTIVE, APPROACHABLE and ENGAGING. By making sure that these values sit at the heart of how we behave internally in our teams and externally with our members and contacts, I know that we will continue our path as one of the fastest growing Chambers in the British Chambers of Commerce network.
