PREFACE

I Believe in the importance of design to overcome all the environmental and economic challenges that face our world in the current time. My passion is to design realities for future generations to edify standard of living, working and learning. Through my education and professional experience I came through a series of challenges that equipped me with more experience and knowledge because I believe that with each challenge comes a rich opportunity.

Altus Internship Summer 2021

I worked during the summer of 2021 with Professionals who appreciated their level of dedication. I had a lot to learn during those three months through working on multiple tasks and projects on different scales and sites. Most importantly, I learned to appreciate the profession and honor it to be passed for many generations to come. 4

I worked through this project with Altus team in Denver, CO. Through this project I learned the importance of representing the environment and the featured plantations and ground features. The office was tasked with renovating the existing building and suggesting new designs for the main entrances. I was delighted to imagine the atmosphere of those new canopies and to feature them in the context of those renders. It was great teamwork that put UC health and its clients in the main consideration.

Through design visualization, I developed those photo-realistic renders in collaboration with ID. Eva Kruger and Project Manager Dwayne Meyer, AIA. I worked enthusiastically with the given design proposal document and the given model to figure out the suitable design representation. I was praised for the atmospheres that I create in those renders which is what the client exactly envisions, healthy and calm environments. Marketing the work of the office was one of my main tasks; therefore, I was keen on providing the best result that reflects great care for the client’s vision.

Crow House Crow Agency, MO Fall 2020

Crow House is a response to economical and communal issues that native Americans still face within the confines of their reservations. Those communities that were obligatory relocated across the continent ended up in poor conditions due to dismantling their resources. Crow Agency is one of those communities that need urgent and swift action to lift up their living standards. Crow house on the other hand proposes a smaller dwelling of 25 square meters to reduce the energy demand and redirect the surplus to the grid. I learned through this project the meaning of empathy, the devastation that those communities feel. I didn’t visit that town, but I watched many videos and interviews that brought tears to my eyes. I used that premise to direct my design moves and intentions to serve that marginalized community with a real passion to create change. Crow House presentation board. An attempt to implement the future of a decayed city like Detroit might trigger the heritage of the city in many ways. The project capitalizes on the musical history of the city by celebrating that in a new form. I learned through this project that you don’t have to stick to the cultural norms to represent the cultural elements. Music for instance has been an integral part of the history of Detroit. The demand to represent that history in a new form that connects to the past through symbolism is of the most importance.

The form theory

The schematic design illustrated how significant it is to connect with the skyline of the city while getting inspired. It showed also how metaphor plays an important role in that.

Through design development, the form of the masses started engaging in a long exterior-interior force harmonization. The cafe is the main entrance to the theater while the exhibition and the recording studio are on a semi-independent entrance. The theater is accommodating a small capacity of 240 audiences. The rest of the masses(The recording studio and the gallery) are lifted above looking at the city in the south and to the highway in the

The essence of community and art crystallizes in this project to communicate a new identity to the institution. I learned through this project-specific conditions o the west of the existing Museum Rotating the area in 20 degrees of the original position of the museum environment, integrating nature into interiors and the influence of form to address identity. I enhanced through this project my visualization skills in general. The project addresses an expansion to the west of the existing building of The International Quilt Museum and Study Center. The aim was to create a form that calls 7 for a new identity to the institution through addressing the fluidity of the cloth. The new expansion includes a new exhibition space and common area to release museum fatigue from the existing building.

No doubt the contrast exists between the old building and the expansion project, but the features of this contrast is what gives the feeling of exploration a momentum.

The plan shows how the building is rotated in 30 degrees from the vertical line to open the views towards Holdrege street. The concept of extending the roof to cover the main entrance was to add the experiential entrance that blurs the boundary between the interior and exterior space and provide a good protection from the west sun heat. On the plan, two entrances to the building illustrated from the east and the west sides. The gift shop and the reception desk is on the north to serve the latter 28

entrances. A cafe space serves as a gathering point and contemplation venue on the east side of the building while on the west side the main gallery opens up its door near the atrium. Getting to the second floor can be done from the link on the south side of the building. Newer office spaces and storage is offered on the second floor of the building to count for the enlarging staff. Those secondfloor programs are supported by a forest of columns that extends down on the cafe space.
