Ontario College Advanced Diploma – Fall

This program focuses on: • the hands-on component in game design and development, 2D/3D imaging, authoring, animation and programming

Most opportunities in gaming exist outside of the Ottawa region. Opportunities for employment may exist as: • game developers, programmers and engineers • graphic designers, developers, programmers, and engineers • software designers, developers, programmers, and engineers • animators and 2D/3D animators • concept, character, and 2D/3D artists • art and technical directors • sound designers, engineers, and technicians • game testers • writers/scriptwriters or content developers • project managers • video designers, technicians, and engineers • instructors/teachers

• English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or equivalent). • Mathematics, Grade 12 (MAP4C or equivalent). • A senior credit in physics is recommended.

Opportunities may exist in entry-level positions in: • graphic design studios • advertising agencies • web publications • multimedia production houses • magazines and newspapers • printing houses • retail stores • television/entertainment • government agencies • educational institutions • freelance projects

• English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or equivalent). • Submit a portfolio of 10-15 samples of your best work. A fee of $30 (subject to change) will be charged for portfolio assessment. Details of an additional layout/design test will be sent upon receipt of your application.

In addition to entrepreneurial endeavors, opportunities may exist in: • nurseries and garden centers • landscape design, construction, and maintenance • park systems • greenhouses • arboreal firms • consulting or teaching

• Should the number of qualified applicants exceed the number of available places, applicants will be selected on the basis of their proficiency in English.

Opportunities for employment may exist in: • design houses and advertising agencies • newspapers and magazines • educational institutions • federal and provincial government • health care facilities • recreation and tourism

• A community college diploma or university degree in a media related field; OR • For mature applicants with related work experience must submit a detailed resume and portfolio demonstrating work generated on a computer. Contact the program coordinator for more details. • Experience with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and various software.
