I produced the unique idea of merging the hotel and a museum together as it would allow people to make use of the museums opening times and if they enjoyed the museums exhibitions enough, they would want to book the hotel. My desired outcome for this project is to create a positive atmosphere with unforgettable memories.

Proposed Ground Floor plan

The idea of the merged hotels were to make the experiences for the children that little bit more immersive where they feel as though they are able to step into the museum and have the chance to potentially fulfil a future passion.

Experimental models

While experimenting for different spacial maquette ideas, I decided that looking into space as my concept and trying to incorporate my themes of sensory perception and lighting I would need to make a more abstract design.

For this maquette I decided to play with lighting and different types of lights. One in low light, one with LED and fairy lights and another in a normal room light. All maquettes cast different lighting effects and produce very different atmospheres for the potential users.

Listening to Holst Planet. I found most inspiration for the shapes in Mercury, the winged messenger.

Conversation pit models and photoshopped render

This maquette experiementation conversation pit chair was one of the main features for the exhbitions.

To explain my idea better I created a photoshop render of the potential space. The render shows the clients sitting in and around the conversation pit. They are able to look at the shown exhibition in the middle on the pit on the celling.

For this Proejct we had to choose a topic within ‘the now’. (what issues are going on in the world right now) For my topic I chose climate change. I decided the best way to get the message across would be to make an interactive pavillion.

The structure would mainly consist of tall concrete and glass structures surrounding a large tree. The main focus of my pavilion would be the climate change clock constantly giving people a ‘reality check’ that if we dont make a change now that soon we will get to the point where the change will be irreversable.

Each of the pavillion structures will have information boards giving more insight to the severity.
