AUTUMN As the leaves grow red and gold The colours bright, beautiful and bold The smell of woodsmoke in the air We know that autumns truly there
From colder mornings, mists and chill Of water drips on webs so still The dew that never fades all day We know that winter’s on its way
The beauteous bounty autumn brings Colours so bright my heart sings And when seen twice is mirrored lake The joy does my whole being shake
It’s now time to come inside To make ones nest to rest and hide Prepare for those long nights, short days And mornings filled with frosty haze
I love this time of year you know It makes me feel nostalgia so Just one whiff of burning leaves That is sent on autumn breeze
I feel excitement deep inside I love to come inside and hide To hear the rain on rattled pain Rejoice that it’s autumn again
