NEWS FROM CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Fall recruiting results in nearly 200 campus interviews “Well prepared.” “Intelligent and confident.” “An outstanding group of candidates.” These statements are a sampling of the comments made about Albion students by organizations participating in on-campus recruiting this past fall. The Office of Career Development recently concluded another productive fall recruiting season. The office would like to thank the participating students and employers for making this year so successful. Over 19 companies participated for a total of almost 200 interviews! Andersen Consulting, Arthur Andersen, Comerica, Eli Lilly, Ernst & Young, Plante & Moran, and PricewaterhouseCoopers represented just a few of the companies actively recruiting current students. During the spring semester, Career Development encourages students to participate in job fairs as well as on-campus recruitment. The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair, Job Pursuit ’99 and WorkChicago ’99 are three job fairs that allow students to network and interview with hundreds of representatives from a variety of industries. The Career Development staff welcomes new organizations that wish to recruit Albion students. If your organization is interested in participating in a job fair or recruiting on campus in the coming months, contact the Office of Career Development at 517/629-0332 or send e-mail to lbogardus@albion.edu.

83 1983 reunion highlights William Pope, ’83 Reunion Chair The Class of 1983 celebrated its 15th class reunion ’80s style. The alums, and their families, gathered to remember their first and final days on campus while enjoying lunch and dinner to catch up on old times. During a picnic-style lunch held pre-game, ’83 grads traveled back in time to orientation week as SOAR leaders held a miniorientation. To keep the kiddies busy, a clown made “balloon pets,” which were enjoyed by everybody! They finished lunch just in time to watch the Britons defeat Alma (2714). For dinner they gathered for a “post-graduation” dinner! Well, sort of . . . they wanted to end their reunion with memories of their final Albion days. The Mary Sykes Room was decorated with caps and gowns, tassels and 1983 memorabilia from the library archives. Alums and their families spent time paging through yearbooks and enjoying old photographs while reminiscing and catching up on lost time. The “time machine” theme was enjoyed by everyone, and the reunion was a success!
