INTRODUCTION Engineering excellence, this is our onus from Day 1. We take it very seriously in Shimano. All the various departments are working really hard to develop new materials for reels construction, unique methods to strengthen carbon used for fishing rods and to introduce a reel that would redefine the way you fish.
All these effort culminated into a number of special products this season. First off, we have the new Vanquish (Pg 4). This reel promises to be the lightest reel you can ever crank that is available in the market today. The rotor is built from a revolutionary new material called, Magnumlite, that reduces cranking inertia by 20% from CI4 material. Body materials consist of our unique blend of magnesium composite to ensure body rigidity and longevity.

Next up, we have the new Antares (Pg 26). This reel needs no further introduction. Antares has already been the very top of low-profile baitcasters. The new model took us 4 years to develop! At first glance, it is easy to miss the new features. However, pick up the reel and be instantly amaze by it. Featuring a new SVS-infinity braking system that gives potentially unlimited braking control, tapered line guide and 3D machine cut handle, get ready to experience a totally new experience in baitcasting!

This is the latest in Shimano high-end spinning reels. One of the most technologically advanced super reel in the market. This reel features our new Magnumlite spool. What this spool does for the anglers is to give him the ability of a vivid cranking control and almost weight-less operations. The Biomaster is a technically improved version, which will earn the same outstanding reputation. Running incredible smooth even under heavy loads is made possible with the X-SHIP system. HEG consists of not only the gears, but also the frame, setplate, and handle-side sideplate. First we increased the size of the drive gear and the pinion gear to offer increased leverage and power. By using a one-piece frame that incorporates the setplate and adding a one-piece stamped sideplate, we have eliminated flex in the drivetrain that causes normal gears to bind under pressure. By eliminating the flex and increasing the leverage, we are able to provide high-speed retrieves and deliver an incredible amount of torque, while maintaining the smooth, silent retrieve Shimano reels are famous for. The new one piece bail system uses a solid one piece stainless alloy bail arm to transfer the line seamlessly onto the roller. The solid bail arm wire is extremely resistant to deformation and will not collapse easily. Without any joints in the bail wire, there is absolutely no risk for PE line to catch onto and fray.
After every fishing trip, always give the reel a good rinse under running tap water.
The Easy Maintenance Port makes servicing the reel a breeze. No longer is it a hassle and a necessity to strip the whole reel to do a service. The Oil/Grease port allows you to maintain your reel even on the field without the need for you to strip and risk loosing reel parts.

Aerowrap is a oscillation system that lays the line at different oscillation speeds to optimize line lay as well as increase the casting distance. Aerowarp reduces line to line friction when the line is flying off the spool. It also allows for both nylon and PE line to sit tightly and evenly to eliminate the top layers of line from cutting into the layers beneath.
Cold Forged Aluminium spool. Cold forging produces a spool with vastly superior mechanical properties due to the ability to control the direction of the aluminium grain structure. It also results in a better surface finish which is less prone to corrosion.

Varispeed uses two specially designed gears and an oscillating slider to vary the line lay during retrieve. On the downstroke of the shaft, the line is laid parallel to each other, while on the upstroke, it is laid at an angle. This line laying system ensure that each layer of line does not cut into previous layers of line. It also improves casting distance due to less effort needed for the line to come off the reel when they are laid parallel to each other. A variable braking system athat allows you to control the amount of drag applied to the spool during a cast inorder to achieved the best trajectory to prevent backlash. 4X4 Variable brake system allows the angler to adjust up to 16 different levels of braking force to maximise casting distance and reduce backlash Shimano Variable Brake System allows you to easily adjust the amount of centrifugal braking that is applied to the spool via adjustable collars. This allows for backlash control to give trouble free casting for all levels of users. 8 levels of pre-programmed braking modes based on lures, casting styles and conditions.
S A-RB are A-RB bearings that are sealed to protect against wear and tear from external contaminants. Shimano proprietary process in which bearings are made 10 times more corrosion resistant than ordinary bearings.

CI4 stands for Carbon Interfusion with the 4 referring to the number of electrons in the Carbon atom. Ultimately, this means CI4 is reinforced Carbon Fiber. It is over one and a half times stronger than our normal XT-7 graphite and is over 20% lighter. Because it does not contain metal, it is impervious to rust. Rods Warranty (Limited 2 Years Warranty) During this period, Shimano will perform non-breakage repairs or effect replacement of rods, at Shimano’s option, with no cost to the original purchaser other than those shipping charges incurred to our service facility. For breakage repairs, a nominal replacement cost will be charged based on the following rod types:
- Single Piece Rod: 40% of the complete rod SRP·
- Multi Piece Rod: 25% of the complete rod SRP for single section breakage, 40% of the complete rod SRP for two or more section breakages
Claim/Repair Procedure To request warranty repairs or non-warranty service, please send your rod or reel to any Shimano Authorized Outlets. Retailers for our product are not required or authorized to perform warranty repairs or exchanges on behalf of Shimano, nor are they authorized to modify this warranty in any way. Shimano reserves the right to void the warranty if the reels/ rods have been tempered, modified or subjected to repairs not authorized by Shimano.If your Shimano rod or reel should be found to require repairs outside of this warranty coverage, (beyond the warranty period), Shimano or Shimano Authorized Outlets will perform the repair and send a claim for parts, labor and shipping charges (if applicable).
Claim Submission Checklist Please ensure that the following items are present when submitting your rod/reel for a warranty claim:
- Valid Warranty Sticker on rod/reel and official warranty card (Within valid warranty period)
- Original Dated Sales Receipt
- Customer Copy of Warranty Card completed and filled with owner/product/purchase information - Completed and filled Shimano Copy of Warranty Card to be submitted within 14 days of purchase
