The Munster Football Association would like to welcome you here today to Turner’s Cross Stadium, Headquarters of the MFA, for our Cup Finals weekend. We are delighted to be celebrating our centenary year and honouring that with two weekends of finals. This weekend we have three Male finals, Munster Youth Cup, Munster U19 Cup & McCarthy Insurance Group Munster Junior Cup. On the 17th & 18th of June we will see four Female Finals being played. Congratulations all who will contest these finals.

May has seen a lot of football at Turners Cross, this weekend we will see the 21st to 23rd games being played here this month. The playing surface today is immaculate and we would like to thank our ground staff for their continued hard work. During the month we have hosted 3 FAI Centenary Cup Finals, the FAI Youth, Intermediate Cup & Junior Cups, all won by Munster teams. Congratulations to Douglas Hall, Rockmount AFC & Villa FC. We also hosted three SFAI National Finals, along with several Local Finals and both Cork City FC & Cork City Women’s FC Fixtures, again showing the association’s dedication of using our fantastic facility here for all strands of the game.

Over the coming months there are plans to improve Turner’s Cross. The Donie Forde stand will be completely re-seated to enhance the supporters experience. We have plans to retrofit our existing Dressing Rooms to enhance the players’ experience and to upgrade our floodlighting system. These projects are part of a long-term plan to fully upgrade the Turner’s Cross. As you will seen the dugouts have been moved to Derrynane Road and the seating in these dugouts will be upgraded in the coming months.
