Lo visualizo: quiero hacer un disco de nueve canciones, no va a durar más de cuarenta minutos y lo voy a hacer de este rollo porque es lo que siento en este momento. Respecto al orden, al empezar sabía que Stood by the gate at the foot la quería al final, porque es como salir de debajo del agua, es muy épica. También quería arrancar medio tímido y creo que lo logré. Y Driving Myself Alone, el single, sabía que lo quería en el número 4, porque no quería que el single estuviera en el track número 2 o 3, quería dejarlo para más adelante. Cuéntanos como fue el proceso de grabación. Lo hice en mi casa, tengo allí mismo el estudio y está bastante aislado. Lo empecé en enero, la composición la hice en cuatro domingos porque fue en un tiempo que tenía mucho curro y no tenía mucho tiempo libre. Así que durante cuatro domingos hice la composición y la grabación, luego invertí dos o tres domingos más para la parte de mezclas, masterizar y demás, lo dejé descansar dos semanas más y a principios de marzo ya se lo mostré a Irregular Label. ¿Qué diferencias encuentras de grabar en casa a hacerlo en un estudio? He grabado poco en estudio, pero la diferencia más grande es que dónde tú puedas montarte cierto entorno, te influirá en la música. Alguna vez me gustaría alquilar una masía y grabar allí durante un mes, saldrá algo de acuerdo a ese entorno. Mientras esto no suceda, prefiero grabar en casa. Además, soy fanático del pop de habitación, del hazlo tu mismo. Cuéntanos tus deseos futuros. Me gustaría hacer muchos directos, me encanta tocar en vivo y me divierto. También me gustaría mucho salir fuera a tocar, con el anterior disco tuve la ocasión de tocar en Alemania, Italia y Londres, la experiencia fue muy buena y me gustaría repetir. Estamos haciendo un videoclip para el single, que en principio saldrá en noviembre y tengo en mente hacer un EP con remezclas de algunas canciones del disco.

As far as the order goes, I knew when I started that I would end with Stood by the gate at the foot, because it’s like coming out from under water, its very epic. I also wanted to start quite shyly and I think I achieved that. Driving Myself Alone, the single, I wanted as the fourth piece because I didn’t want the single coming second or third, I wanted it further on. Tell us about how the recording went. I did it at home. I have a studio there and it’s quite isolated. I started it in January. I did all the composing in four sundays because I had a lot of work on and not that much time. So on four Sundays I composed and recorded, than two or three more Sundays for the mixing, mastering and so on. I let it rest for a couple of weeks and then at the beginning of March I showed it to Irregular Label. What are the differences between recording at home and in a studio? I haven’t recorded in a studio very often, but the biggest difference is that when you can set up certain surroundings, that will influence the music. One day I would like to rent a farmhouse and be there recording for a month, what came out would be responding to that environment. Until that happens, I prefer to record at home. Also I’m a big fan of bedroom pop, of doing it yourself. Tell us about your future desires. I would like to do alot of gigs. I love playing live and it’s fun. Also I’d like to travel and play in other countries. With my last album I had the opportunity to play in Germany, Italy and London, the experience was very good and I would like to repeat it. We’re doing a videoclip for the single, which should come out in November, and I have in mind to do an EP with remixes from various songs from the CD.
