newsbulletin Trip Feast keen to work with agents

Notes from . . . n o t n a m r o N IRST OF all apologies to Alan Meadows who is Business Development Manager for Longwood, Preston AND Amathus Holidays - and who did I miss off when I mentioned who you could book the lovely Asimina Suites Hotel which I had visited the other week? Yes, Amathus Holidays - so sorry Alan and as Brucie would say ‘you’re my favourite!’ Had a few visitors this week which is always nice – Richard Hey from Bedsonline called in to remind us that they now do villas abroad and they also do airport hotels with parking now. Tracey from Balkan Holidays was next, letting us know that they are doing the £70 deposit for 2013 and they go on sale Fri and by now you should have had their new brochures – can’t wait to see them. Read in the Daily Mail how an alcoholic drink or two can sharpen up your mind! According to a survey done, men (what’s wrong with us women?) who enjoy a relaxing drink are better at solving brain teasers than those who are sober. Not only did the thirstier chaps get more questions right, they were also quicker in delivering the correct responses. The amount of alcohol found to spark creative thought was around 4 units – 2 pints of beer or two med glasses of wine - make mine a double please! Luella is excited - she is off on the Beachcomber Academy fam trip to Mauritius that she won at last year’s Yorks Abta Ball and she finally goes on Sat. No doubt she will come back full of good things to say - I can see a Mauritius window display being done when she gets back! Joanne can’t wait for her family holiday to Barbados in a couple of weeks after originally booking for the Almond Beach Village - and then of course it closed so now she is in the Almond Casuarina Beach and Turtle Beach Resort - fingers crossed all goes well!‘People can be divided into three groups – those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened’ and ‘Fight with your strength, not with others weakness ...as success lies in your effort, not in others defeat’.

Fetchmyluggage.co.uk launches baggage courier site to the trade FETCHMYLUGGAGE.CO.UK, which offers a home to hotel baggage courier service with a full tracking facility, is now offering commissionable rates to travel agents. The company claims that costs for the service are substantially cheaper than airline excess baggage charges. The company's founder, Colin Gilmour, said: "It’s fantastic news for the travel agent as they can now offer this additional service directly to their clients at the touch of a button. Our service eliminates the risk of being caught out by the ever increasing luggage charges levied by all airlines. In today’s climate where most people are feeling the pinch, our service can greatly alleviate some of the costs associated with airline travel. "The service suits all markets – families, the elderly, skiers, golfers, the disabled and brides to be. There is no better feeling than walking into an airport and going straight to passport control without being subjected to large check-in queues. Waiting around at the baggage carousel in arrivals may soon be a thing of the past." The service covers 270 countries worldwide and prices lead in at £29.98 for short-haul European flights.
