legendary journey with a choice of excursions • choice of Gold or Platinum Service • stunning views The Ghan 2 nights Day 1 Darwin/Katherine: Morning departure from Darwin Train Station. Settle back as you travel south and the view begins its smooth and spectacular transformation. Arrive Katherine early afternoon where a choice of excursions are included. Options include a Nitmiluk Gorge Cruise, Gorge and Rock Art Cruise or Outback Experience (May-Oct only). Back on board, the train departs early evening. Day 2 Alice Springs/Manguri: Wake up to a new view outside your window, an outback sunrise could be one of the most spectacular you’ll ever see. After breakfast the train reaches Alice Springs where you have the opportunity to leave the train to embark on one of the included off train excursions, taking in the delights of this famous outback town.
Return to the train early afternoon and spend the remainder of the day on board, admiring the ever changing vistas. The train makes a short stop this evening in Manguri, where Gold and Platinum Service guests will be invited to disembark for a nightcap by the light of an Outback bonfire whilst admiring the starlit sky. The train departs and travels through the night towards the final destination. Day 3 Adelaide: Morning arrival in Adelaide. This journey is also available in reverse. The Ghan Expedition travels over 4 days/3 nights from 03 May25 Oct 17 with extended touring in Alice Springs and Coober Pedy as well as an upgrade option for a scenic flight and ground tour of Uluru.

What you need to know Features: Queen Adelaide Restaurant & Outback Explorer Lounge (Gold Service guests) or Platinum Club (Platinum Service guests) serving all meals and beverages; guests can book their dining time, subject to train times Gold Service from £1650: Gold Service guests have the choice of either a single cabin (private cabin with single lounge that converts to a lower berth at night with wash basin facilities - toilets and showers are located at the end of each carriage); or twin cabin (private cabin with compact en suite facilities with 3-seater lounge that converts to upper and lower berths at night). Tea or coffee served in cabin before breakfast. Platinum Service from £2465: Guests enjoy spacious private cabins with large picture windows and large en suite facilities which offer a deluxe lounge by day and convert to either a full size double bed or twin beds by night. The en suite comprises of full size shower and toilet facilities with native Australian toiletries.
