The A-Z of Cruising WITH CARNIVAL

The A-Z of Cruising WITH CARNIVAL

PLEASE SEE WWW.CARNIVAL.CO.UK FOR OUR CRUISE HOLIDAY BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS THAT FORM THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND CARNIVAL FOR YOUR CRUISE HOLIDAY. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY AS THEY WILL BIND YOU WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE READ THEM. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO OUR WEBSITE, PLEASE ASK ONE OF OUR SALES REPRESENTATIVES OR YOUR TRAVEL AGENT FOR A COPY OF THE LATEST BOOKING CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU BOOK.

DEPOSIT AND BALANCE In order to confirm your booking, you must pay Carnival a deposit per person per cruise, or for bookings made 75 days or less before departure, the full price. The amount of deposit varies according to the length of cruise. Below are the deposit amounts we require at the time of publication of this brochure, however, these are subject to change and you will be advised the correct deposit amount at the time of making your booking. An additional deposit amount may be required for any additional travel component such as hotel stay, flights or transfers that you add to your booking and you will be advised of the additional amount at the time of booking. For cruises booked as part of our Instant Saver programme, payment of the full cruise fare is due at the time of booking.

ABTA Carnival is a member of ABTA, no. Y5878. ABTA and ABTA Members help holidaymakers to get the most from their travel and assist when things don’t go according to plan. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. For more information on ABTA, the Code of Conduct and the arbitration scheme available to you if you have a complaint, contact ABTA, 30 Park Street, London SE1 9EQ, tel 020 3117 0500 www.abta.com. ADVANCE GUEST INFORMATION – US BORDER SECURITY ACT Carnival is required to provide the U.S. Department of Homeland Security with specific guest information prior to departure. To comply with this you must provide advance guest information by going online at www.carnival.co.uk/mycruise and clicking onto the “FunPass” icon. You will need your Carnival booking number, ship and sail date. Once you complete the online registration process, you will be able to “fast track” through a quick documentation verification at embarkation. You will also be able to print off your boarding pass and reserve shore excursions. Failure to provide this information prior to two days before departure date may result in delayed or refused embarkation. BACK TO BACK CRUISES Many of our guests book “back-to-back” cruises, which constitute two seven-night cruises featuring different ports of call to be taken sequentially. These cruises constitute two separate bookings and we require two deposits, one for each booking, per person. There is the possibility you will be allocated different cabins on each cruise, therefore necessitating the need to move between cabins on the changeover day between cruises. There may also be some repetition of food and entertainment in week 2. Following return to the ship’s home port on day 7, all non-USA guests must disembark and clear USA immigration within the port before re-embarking the ship. BAGGAGE There is no need to affix baggage tags to your luggage prior to travel. You will be issued with baggage tags showing your deck and cabin number when you have completed your online check in at www.carnival.co.uk/mycruise. Guests are encouraged to limit their luggage to two suitcases per guest. Each suitcase should not weigh more than 23kgs and should not exceed 16”H x 24”W (40.64cm x 60.96cm); there are no length restrictions. We suggest that all checked luggage be unlocked and have a Carnival luggage tag attached listing the guest’s name and stateroom number. For those guests who wish to carry-on their luggage, it cannot exceed 16”H x 24”W (40.64cm x 60.96cm); there are no length restrictions; anything larger must be checked-in with a curbside porter. BAGGAGE LIABILITY It is mandatory that all guests purchase a travel insurance policy that covers baggage, contents and accidents. Each fully paid adult Guest will be allowed a reasonable amount of luggage onboard containing their personal belongings. Carnival shall not be liable for any loss or damage before baggage comes into Carnival’s actual custody onboard or after baggage leaves Carnival’s actual custody onboard, including, but not limited to, loss or damage by airlines or other transportation services; any loss or damage of baggage while not in the actual possession, custody and control of Carnival; damage due to wear, tear or normal usage; any loss or damage of perishable items, medicine, liquor, cash, securities or other financial instruments, or any loss or damage while in the custody and control of stevedores. It is stipulated and agreed that the aggregate value of Guest’s property, does not exceed $50 USD per guest or bag with a maximum value of $100 USD per stateroom regardless of the number of occupants or bags and any liability of Carnival for any cause whatsoever with respect to said property shall not exceed such sum, unless the Guest shall in writing, delivered to Carnival, prior to embarkation, declare the true value thereof and pay to Carnival prior to embarkation a sum equal to 5% of the excess of such value. If Carnival shall be held liable for the loss of or damage to Guest’s baggage or property it is agreed that such liability shall not exceed the lesser of: (1) the actual cash value, or (2) value declared in the manner above provided (up to U.S. $100 USD if no such declaration has been made). See our full terms and conditions on www.carnival.co.uk for the detailed Baggage Liability Policy. No Guest is permitted, to bring onboard the vessel live animals (other than qualified service animals, with not less than 14 days advance notice given to Carnival). Guest will be solely responsible for any and all damage and/or loss caused by service animals. Weapons, firearms, contraband, ammunition, explosives, incendiary devices, or other dangerous items are strictly prohibited aboard the vessel. Carnival reserves the right to confiscate, destroy and/or turn over to authorities these or any other items it deems in its sole discretion to be detrimental to the safety or comfort of any person or which are otherwise improperly in the possession of any Guest. Each Guest warrants that no such articles are contained in any receptacle or container carried or presented as baggage.

All Guests agree Carnival has, at all times with or without notice, the right to search Guest’s baggage and/or personal effects for any of the prohibited items, at any location, to ensure compliance with these restrictions. Any Guest who refuses any such search or screening, or any Guest traveling with such items, may be denied boarding or disembarked and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. The Guest will be solely responsible for any and all damage and/or loss caused by his violation of this policy. CHANGES TO BROCHURE We reserve the right to make changes to the particulars, including the prices in the brochure, after publication. You will be advised of any changes before you book. CLOTHING ONBOARD Casual attire is the order of the day. For one or two evenings, more formal attire is suggested. The dress code for other evenings ranges from sports jacket and tie to casual resort wear. Shorts and T-shirts are not permitted in the dining room during dinner but are acceptable in the Lido restaurant. For Alaska cruises, sweaters, lightweight jackets and raincoats are suggested. COMPLAINTS Please bring any complaints to the attention of Carnival during your cruise holiday so that the problem can be addressed. If you are unable to resolve the problem during the cruise, you should notify Carnival of your complaint at the earliest opportunity and in any event no later than 28 days after you return home. Failure to report the complaint within this time may adversely affect Carnival’s ability to investigate and deal with it and this may affect your rights. ABTA, of which Carnival is a member, has an arbitration scheme for resolution of disputes. Please see our Cruise Holiday Booking Terms and Conditions which apply to your cruise holiday at www.carnival. co.uk. which set out full details of your rights to complain. CREDIT CARDS We charge a handling fee of 1.5% of the price of your cruise holiday for payments made by credit card. CRUISE CONTRACT The terms and conditions of the contract between you and Carnival for your cruise holiday are the “Cruise Holiday Booking Terms and Conditions” contained on our website www.carnival.co.uk. By making a booking for a cruise holiday either on our website or via one of our sales representatives or a travel agent, you will be deemed to have read those terms and conditions and to have accepted them. Accordingly if you do not have access to our website, please ask our sales representatives or your travel agent for a copy of the terms and conditions before booking. CRUISE FARES Cruising with Carnival represents the best in holiday value. Your cruise includes accommodation aboard your Carnival Superliner, meals and entertainment onboard ship. A small surcharge applies to meals for some of the onboard dining and entertainment options dependent on the ship. Not included, however, are items of a personal nature or optional programmes or optional activities, such as alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, laundry and dry cleaning, onboard service charges (which can be prepaid at the time of booking), shore excursions, medical, barber and spa services. All lead-in fares shown in this brochure are per person in £ Sterling. You will be charged separately for additional items not shown on the itinerary, such as hotel dayrooms. You may purchase “cruise only” fares, which will not include air transportation, hotel accommodation or transfers. DATA PROTECTION We use your personal information in order to process your cruise holiday booking and for other purposes such as marketing in accordance with our Cruise Holiday Booking Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. Please see our website www.carnival.co.uk for details. DELAYS In the event of a delayed departure, Carnival will inform guests as soon as possible of the delay and of the estimated departure time and estimated arrival time as soon as that information is available in accordance with EU Regulation 1177/392. Where Carnival reasonably expects the departure of a cruise to be delayed for more than 90 minutes beyond its scheduled departure time, guests departing from port terminals will be offered free of charge such snacks, meals or refreshments as are appropriate given the waiting time, provided they are available and can reasonably be supplied. If the delay in departure necessitates a stay of one or more nights or a stay additional to that intended by the guest, where and when physically possible, Carnival shall offer guests departing from port terminals free of charge adequate accommodation, onboard or ashore, and transport to and from the port terminal and place of accommodation in addition to the snacks, meals and refreshments previously referred to. The maximum amount that Carnival will pay for accommodation ashore and transport to and from the port terminal is the GBP equivalent of EUR 80 per night for a maximum of three nights. Carnival will not have an obligation to provide accommodation ashore where the delay is caused by weather conditions endangering the safe operation of the ship. You may have rights against the airline in cases of flight delays under EU Regulation 261/2004. Full details of these rights are published at EU airports and are available from airlines. Please see our Cruise Holiday Booking Terms and Conditions at www.carnival.co.uk for further details of your rights in the event of a delay.

You will not be able to embark the ship without a passport. We recommend that guests travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond completion of travel. Some countries will also require you to hold a visa to enter their country. Some will require you to obtain a visa in advance of your cruise and others may issue a visa upon arrival. Guests should consult with the relevant country’s embassy or consulate to ascertain whether a visa is required. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct travel documents for your journey. Any guest travelling without proper documentation will not be allowed to board the ship and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. U.S. State Department regulations require that all guests travelling from visa-waiver countries must be in possession of a machine readable passport. From 12 January 2009 all visitors to the USA are required to comply with the mandatory Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA), introduced by the US government for all visitors into the United States under the visa waiver scheme. Customers can apply online at www.cbp.gov/esta or via their travel agent for an ESTA that is valid for two years, allowing multiple visits to the US within that period without the need to reapply. Carnival reserves the right to add or withdraw a [Fly Aweigh®] airport at any time in relation to new bookings. See below for terms relating to changes to airports for existing bookings. Fly Aweigh® bookings are not guaranteed and are subject to air carrier’s availability and restrictions. Due to the special fares and capacity limitations imposed by the airlines, Carnival retains the right to select carriers and determine routings. Some routings may involve travel to an airport other than in the city where the ship embarks or disembarks; in those cases, subject to availability, Carnival will offer coach transportation to and/or from the ship [as an optional service at an additional cost]. Flight schedules and/or availability may require overnight hotel accommodations either to join and/or to return from your Cruise; only in those instances, where an overnight stay is required, Carnival will cover the cost for the hotel, Taxes, porterage and transportation between the hotel and the airport/pier; any additional expenses will be the responsibility of the Guest.
