It seems that time just flies now. It is very difficult to believe that a year has gone by since I last reported to you. Keeping the lights on continues to be our top priority. Some of the significant thunderstorms the last twelve months have challenged us to not only keep the lights on but also, after the storm leaves us, we may still be challenged by blinking lights. is very much like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Our lines are long and lots of items have to be looked at closely. We appreciate our members being patient as we work to make things steady and bright. Cost is always an important consideration and we try to keep a careful eye on every aspect. Since, over-all, we are not growing in numbers of customers that puts pressure on costs. When we do build a new line another one is usually abandoned. This adds to the pressure on cost as new construction is not cheap. Add to that

wholesale power, health insurance increases, pension increases and many more cost and it is easy to see why we diligently watch our cost. However, even though we have had $13.00 per $100.00 increase in the last four years we have only raised your cost $1.00 per month. I believe we are one of the tightest cost-control cooperatives in the nation! Change is a part of life and it certainly is here at your cooperative. While we remain mindful of the past we are also embracing the future in order to better serve you! A
