A New Islamic Bulletin is Born! About 7-years ago when I was Naib Muhtamin Isha-at II, of the Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria, I had a plan to start the production of AlIrfan Bulletin, a monthly newsletter of MKAN which will report the various activities of MKAN. As Allah would have it, I couldn't achieve the plan because of other intervening issues.

I was indeed very much pleasantly surprised that after the inauguration of the new Majlis Sultan-ulQalam and Editorial Board of AlIrfan , one of its first proposals was the production of a monthly online news publication that will publicise MKAN’s activities for the month. It is noteworthy that I had not discussed my intentions stated above with the new board, but Allah has inspired their hearts with the same
idea and I could not do anything but to support them with all the resources I have in my capacity as Sadr MKAN. The above story of the inspiration of Allah to two sets of people about the same project is a testimony that Allah will always support all good intentions of His servant and make them come to limelight even when it seems such intentions have been forgotten by the person. Today as we all celebrate the birth of the Al-Irfan team which has been blessed with her first ‘baby’ I wish to thank Allah who has shown significant blessing to the Majlis Khuddam. I also wish to request for prayers for Bro. onto the way of Allah. The activities conducted include excursions, picnic and camping. This first edition of the Al-Irfan Bulletin captures the celebrations with elaborate pictures of the events so that our readers by
seeing the pictures might come to ‘feel’ the importance of celebrating children. Also in the past two weeks, the institution of Khilafat in Ahmadiyya clocked 106 years. This is also featured in the edition. Enjoy.

Edo-Delta, Benin Muqami Celebrate Atfal in Grand Style This year’s Atfal day of Benin Muqami held on Sunday 1st June, 2014. Apata Dil’a Holds Camping for Atfal, Nasirat The monthly camping, held between 17th and 18th May 2014, was planned to ensure healthy competition and create an atmosphere of love, association and togetherness among Atfal and Nasra. Held at Baitur Raheem Mosque, Apata, the camping started early with the division of the wards into 4 groups: v.I.P – from ages 5 – 7; Group One – ages 7 – 9; Group two ages 10 – 12; and Group three – ages 13 – 15. various lessons which will assist them morally, intellectually and spiritually. Such lessons are: a) Quranic memorization: Group I- Surat Nas; Group II – Surat Adiyat; Group III – Surat Qadr b) Qaseedah: Stanza 11, 14 and 17 Respectively c) Reading of Quran : Al Baqarah verse 1 – 7 d) Prayers of the Holy Prophet:Funeral Prayer e) Ahmadiyya in Islam : Muhammad, the seal of prophets and Ahmadiyya views
f) Solat: Time and Raka’ats in prayer g) English language: Regular and Irregular verbs h) Mathematics : Indices, Simple equation i) Sport: Light Exercise and March past. Besides, the children were treated with a lot of excitement. 99 wards attended the event ( Atfal 63, Nasrat 36) while 3 Nazimeen Atfal and 7 Nasra Secretaries were on ground. Also, 5 school teachers and 7 Khuddam for security and monitoring attended. A total of N1, 120 was realized as Atfal Chanda.

Ibadan Dil’a Holds Atfal Day Picnic at UI Zoological Garden The Atfal Day Picnic which was held on 27th October, 2013 was attended by 163 Atfal from 19 muqami out of the 21 muqami in the old Ibadan Dil’a. Some of the activities which the Atfal were treated with are inter-alia: conduction of the Atfal round the zoological garden in which varieties of animals were seen; questions and answers segment where children asked questions on animal species they saw; food and drinks segment, in which children wined and dined together as a family. Atfal Day: Oyo Dil’a to Visit OSWC, Erelu As parts of activities marking the Atfal Day celebration in the state, Oyo Dil’a has planned to celebrate in style by taking the Atfal to Oyo State Water Corporation, Erelu on 21st June 2014. The event will basically take a form of an excursion. During the event, all the participants will know every step that involves in treating water before
it is used for drinking and others. Oyo State Water Corporation is an ancient place where indigenes of Oyo and its environment gets their water for drinking and other domestic purpose before Oyo State Government decided to make it a source of income by giving it various treatment before distributing it to the people for use.
According to the Dil’a, the venue is chosen to avail the Atfal the opportunity to know every step that involves in treating water and to know different sources of water used for drinking and to know the best source among them.
Ogbomoso Commemorates Khilafat Day written by Ogunsola Idris The members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Oyo circuit and the general public were agog on 1st June, 2014, when an elaborate Khilafat Day was held at the central Mosque under construction at Ile-ewe, Owode area, Ogbomoso to commemorate the 106th year of Khilafat in the Jama’at. The programme, whose theme was ‘Institution of Khilafat in Islam’ was organized by Ogbomoso Jama’at, to foster the propagation of Islam-ul-Ahmadiyya in the town; it was chairman by Oyo

Ahmadiyya as the Jama’at lecturer had already discussed and the hosting Jama’at took it as a point of responsibilities to do follow-up at the venue by distributing a handbook locally prepared on comparing the Khulafat-ul-Rashideen (Rightly Guided Khalifa) and Khilafat-ulAhmadiyya. The Jama’at’s pamphlet titled: Khulafah on the Precepts of Prophethood, pasted quotes on Khilafat from Qur’an, Hadith and Malfuzah on cardboard around the Mosque and others were adopted as illustrative materials and reference for the programme.

Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (MKA) is an auxiliary organization of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Community, saddled with the task of organizing members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at between the ages of seven and forty years to present the peaceful message of Islam to the entire world. Its aims are to train and educate its members in the true Islamic teachings, selfless service to Islam, country and mankind at large. The Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN) holds an annual National Workshop for the officers within the structures of MKAN. The event is being organized by Tarbiyya (Religious Training) Department in collaboration with the Ta’lim (Religious Education) and other relevant departments of the Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria. The program is aimed at providing a forum for the cross fertilization of ideas, education and enlightenment of the members of the executive of the Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Nigeria across the various administrative levels of the Majlis towards promoting effective communication amongst them as well as educating all members on topical issues affecting the Nation as it affects the youths with a view to providing solutions to them. Highlights of the event include: Interactive session of Muqami Qaideen with MKAN Sadr Sahib, Interaction between the various MKAN departmental heads at the National levels with their counterparts at the State and Local levels, Symposium and lectures on various topical issues, Blood donation and lots more. Friday Sermon Delivered by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba) Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. ‘Do they then not look at the camel, how it is created/ And at the heaven, how it is raised high? And at the mountains, how they are firmly rooted? And at the earth, how it is spread out?’ (88:18-21) Hazrat Khalifatul Masih recited the above verses and gave a discourse on obedience in the today’s Friday sermon. The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) has elucidated obedience of Prophethood and Imamat (spiritual leadership) of the time with reference to these verses. He has made, what may appear an odd connection between the camel and obedience of Prophethood and Imamat. However, the deep and profound spiritual significance of the Promised Messiah’s (on whom be peace) words tells us that there are several words for the camel in Arabic but the specific word stated in the verse above is a plural noun and this signifies that God intends to explain cultural and communal traits of the camel here. CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE SUDDEN DEMISE OF DR. MEHDI ALI QAMAR were too shocked with that incidence! Available reports show that Dr. Qamar was a personality of noble characters, humble, peace-lover, highly skilful and humanitarian par excellence! He was able to use his vast expertise in medicine to safeguard the less privileged. We are aware that his demise will cause a vacuum amongst his colleagues, families, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and all those who used to enjoy his selfless services to humanity. At this trying period, we pray to The Almighty Allah to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May Allah forgive him and accept him into His Paradise. May Allah descend His divine favours and comforts on the wife and children that he left behind.

MKAN MEMBERS PRAY FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF MEMBERS During the MKAN’s National Executive Council meeting for the month of May 2014, Sadr Sahib stressed the need for all the members to be economically independent despites the level of economic challenges being witnessed in the country. In his words, “We have come of age where each one of us should be economically stable averagely. It is also important that we explore all the lawful means towards increasing our standards of living.” This issue was thoroughly looked into by the entire Mulk Officers in order to tackle the economic challenges and unemployment affecting a great number of Majlis members. Thereafter, Sadr Sahib directed that all members should observe a fast on Thursday, 29th May 2014 and a congregational Tahajjud, at the various Muqamin, on Friday, 30th May 2014. The prayers were aimed at asking Allah: to endow all MKAN members with strong economic base to
propagate Islam; to provide good jobs for the jobless and; to grant job securities for the employed and as well remove the laziness
