“I wasn’t particularly planning to go to Antarctica to start with, at least not before going to America and Europe. An opportunity had just come up and it worked out I would be able to go so I decided to take the plunge. It turned out to be an amazing trip, was such a blessing being able to go.”
“Once you get there, there are three things in particular that hit you straight away; - It’s like you’ve landed on a different planet that’s a desolate white desert with no trees or plants in sight. the only animals you see much of are penguins and maybe a rogue seal”
“It’s a huge landscape. The landmasses and icebergs are enormous. You really get an appreciation of how big the world is. - The blue colours you see are incredible. They’re a shade you don’t see anywhere else in nature.”

“Normally this is the last continent people have on their list to visit. It was a real privilege getting to get it done earlier. I’d highly recommend doing it while you’re younger, being able to run around, retain body heat easily and go swimming in Antarctic waters. Good fun”
