Subject: Request to increase the approved capacityof the batteryenergystorage system
Dear Mr Hoban
I refer to your letter of 1 February 2024, seeking the Planning Secretary’s approval to increase the delivery capacity of the battery energy storage system from 400 MW to 415 MW, in accordance with Condition A5 of Schedule 2.
The Department considers that the increase can be reasonably accommodated within the area considered in the Environmental Impact Statement (including the Preliminary Hazard Analysis) and would not result in any additional impacts beyond has been approved.
Accordingly, as nominee of the Planning Secretary, I approve the 15 MW increase to the development’s total delivery capacity prescribed in Condition A5 of Schedule 2, to a total of 415 MW.
Please ensure that a document notifying the approved capacity increase is made publicly available on the project website at the earliest convenience.
