Donating To The Hope Warming Center Donation

On December 22, 2022, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Theta Lambda Omega Chapter, Pontiac, Michigan donated items to the Hope Warming Center in Pontiac, Michigan

Theta Lambda Omega purchased gloves, cleaning products and snacks in the amount of $600 00 Also, the chapter donated $250 00 to the organization to feed the community for a day Theta Lambda Omega continues to serve the community by partnering with Hope Warming Center and other organizations by regularly purchasing items from their wish lists

Kwanza Celebration

On December 28, 2022, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Theta Lambda Omega Chapter, Pontiac, Michigan hosted its Kwanzaa celebration It was hosted at The Bowen Center in Pontiac, Michigan The theme for the celebration was “REUNITED” as we gathered inperson for the first time since 2019! Many members of the community including AKA Teens and other youth organizations were present as we shared holiday cheer

The program featured presentations singing, dancing, reading, a personal memoir and the interpretation of the Kwanzaa principles Local vendors displayed their wares and donated gifts for giveaways to those in attendance. The event was open to the public and provided holiday cheer to everyone in attendance

"WE ARE ONE"

The Alpha Omega Chapter hosted a community event, “We Are One” AKA Day of Service in Cleveland, Ohio The purpose of the event was to bring the community together to honor Dr Martin Luther King's legacy, uplifting the community by helping others and spreading random acts of kindness There were a total of 125 people in attendance College Now AmeriCorps partnered with Alpha Omega Chapter and collectively we provided a monetary donation and winterrelated items to the City Mission The blankets were handmade at the event by members of Alpha Omega Chapter, College Now AmeriCorps, and citizens of the community

Hygiene Products Donated To Ozone House

Ozone House, a nonprofit organization that assists youth experiencing homelessness serves Washtenaw County. The Chapter Community Service Committee, National PanHellenic Council Chair and the Uplift Our Communities committee of the Delta Psi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® collaborated with other organizations within the Ann Arbor NPHC on a community service project Hygiene products were collected for Ozone House. Together, 675 hygiene products were donated for the youth
