Director’s Report Greetings Region II! April – typically one of the busiest month’s for student centers across the United States as students try to get their remaining programs in for the year and we have the numerous seasonal award ceremonies, banquets, etc. In addition to all of the normal excitement, we have several opportunities being provided by Region II this month: Scholarships · One I-LEAD® registration scholarship for students. Application deadline is FRIDAY. · One IPDS New Professionals Orientation registration scholarship for professionals. Application deadline is FRIDAY. Education ·Online Learning Program on ACUI Live – Social Justice and the College Union at 1 p.m. Eastern, April 28. ·Face-to-face Educational Sessions – Graduate Student Forum on April 30 at Texas State University-San Marcos. We have also launched our Region II Membership Assessment survey. This survey is your opportunity to tell us what opportunities you are looking for from the region and will take less than 10 minutes of your time! Awards & Scholarships IPDS: New Professionals Orientation June 13 - 17 Univeristy of Wisconsin-Madison Application due: April 22 Region II is sponsoring one scholarship for IPDS. The award covers the registration cost for the institute and the receipient will be recognized at the closing banquet of the 2016 regional conference. Eligible applicants should be enrolled or employed at a Region II member institution. IPDS has been refined over its more than 40-year existence. The program offers participants an opportunity to share information, exchange materials, learn new techniques and theories, discuss opporutnities and threats, and network with colleges in a challenging and supportive environments. Anyone who is new to the college union and student activities profession should attend regardless of title. Because the program format facilitiates a small-group feel, the bonds formed with colleagues can last a lifetime, often with IPDS “classes” holding reunions.

I-LEAD®: Institute for Leadership Education and Development July 24 - 29 University of Puget Sound Application due: April 22 Region II is sponsoring one scholarship for I-LEAD®. The award covers the registration cost for the institute and the receipient will be recognized at the closing banquet of the 2016 regional conference. I-LEAD® is ACUI’s premier student program, designed to emphasize the key concept areas of leadership, community development, and change. I-LEAD® offers an opportunity for the college students to focus on personal growth and other issues facing our world. The institute prepares students to develop skills that will serve them as leaders in any situation, regardless of role, organization, or environment.
