WHY THE PR4 EXTREME 240?

AJP MAKES THE CHALLENGE IN ROMANIA OLD SCHOOL DEFIES ‘REST OF THE WORLD’ Extreme Enduro racing is one of the most demanding disciplines of the motorized sport, not only for the brave riders that accept the challenge, but especially for all machinery involved in such tuff races. Take the example of the Red Bull Romaniacs: five days of racing, more than 100km of extreme daily riding over the mountains and valleys of Transylvania, around eight hours of hard work in each day, big differences of temperature and altitude, low traction, mud, water, dust, constant craches, the worst possible scenario for man and machine. So why is AJP entering in this authentic off road hell with bikes that theoretically are far behind all competition, with less power and older technology? The answer is simple and bring us back to the roots of off road, to the essence of a sport that needs, above all, reliability, low maintenance, easy riding and a perfect balance between rider and motorcycle. Yes, we are going to challenge all the latest hi-tech models with an air-cooled engine, ‘carburated’ and capable of only 20 hp, but we are sure that the PR4 Extreme 240 will last and help the riders to go thru all obstacles with a smile on their face, not fearing water leaks and engine overheat after a destructive crash. When the going gets tuff, the PR4 Extreme 240 is the best option in terms of handling (short wheelbase, ‘light’ steering geometry, low weight) and traction, due to the controllable power and great performance of the progressive rear suspension, based on a cast aluminium swing arm and a fully adjustable Sachs shock actuated by a linkage system. On the front, riders can attack all obstacles with no fear thanks to an exclusive Marzocchi closed cartridge inverted fork with 48 mm surface treated stanchion tubes, giving 300 mm of stroke. Braking is also a serious matter for AJP and despite the low weight/lower performance of the engine, riders can relly on a generous Galfer ‘wave’ disc with 270mm diameter and a floating two pot caliper from Braktec. This is our recipe for the Red Bull Romaniacs and hope all of you can share our philosophy in a near future. Remember: ‘Easy riding, easy life on the trail’!
