As an aspiring landscape architect my design process is driven by a desire to create aesthetically pleasing places that build a sense of community. My most cherished memories include spending time with loved ones on nature trails, parks, and in backyards In these spaces I connected with my family and developed an appreciation for nature.

As I progress in my career, I find my mind drifting to these spaces of memory I remember the way the light hit the trees, the feeling of mud on my feet, and the texture of flower petals on my fingers.

These experiences fostered a love of nature that I want to share with others My designs focus on enhancing the natural aesthetic beauty of the site while also keeping sustainability a priority Additionally, I hope to create community spaces where humans and nature can interact by providing spaces where both natural ecosystems and human interactions are encouraged My designs work to capture the elements of nature that I loved as a child and share them with every individual that enters the space.

Hershcend Residence

The Herschend Residence gardens aim to combine family life and entertainment in one compact space. The garden's centerpiece is a natural pool that acts as a play area for hot summer days and an aesthetically pleasing water feature. Surrounding the pool are lawn space, outdoor dining room, tree allees, and whimsical garden plantings. The spaces follow a rectilinear form vocabulary using lines from the house and garage The use of rectilinear form vocabulary gives the garden a feeling of formality, while the use of plants like muhly grass, yarrow, and milkweed provides a playful splash of color. The separation of space through grade change gives garden rooms an intimate setting and a sense of mystery that will encourage guests and family to explore the property

The Herschend Residence is the definition of multifunctional. Whether you want to play, rest, or entertain, there is a space available.

SB+C tudio

During my internship at B+C Studio, I learned many valuable lessons about landscape architecture. I was able to increase my rendering speed, produce detail and construction documentation sets, learned about and produced a tree protection plan, and was able to design a pool area. I am grateful for the experience, guidance, and advice I received from the staff at B+C studio.

The samples of work in the following pages are some of the projects I was able to help render or design; all are collaborative efforts a special thank you to B+C Studio for a great first experience working at a landscape architecture firm.

Southwest BirdRehabilitation Center

The Southwest Bird Rehabilitation Center is an imaginary business in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The plaza is in the style of prominent landscape architect Gilles Clement The selected plants are native to the area and are meant to move and change with time and the natural forces of nature

The prominent colors, yellow and orange, signify health and happiness The use of turquoise blue for the tables and chairs signifies some of the cultural heritage of New Mexico

HMiscellaneous and Graphics

Hand graphics are one of my favorite parts of being a landscape architect It is fulfilling to draw and color landscape designs and ideas. All drawings in this section were done with colored pencils and ink.
