Being a pioneer company in the renewable energy sector in Brazil is an enormous historic mark. At the same time, maintaining the high-quality international level of wind and solar projects is always challenging.
This is Eólica Tecnologia . An effervescence company always in the frontier of innovation that contributes to Brazil’s protagonism role in the new green world economy and global climate solution.
Everaldo Alencar Feitosa Founder and CEOEolica Tecnologia Ltda is one of the leading companies in wind farm development and operation in Brazil. A company that develops, builds, operate and manages renewable energy projects, having a leading role in the wind and solar energy sector.
The company relies on the expertise of its president Everaldo Alencar Feitosa, Ph.D. (Aeronautics and Astronautics, Southampton University, U.K.), a renowned advisor to several renewable energy institutions, former president of the Brazilian Wind Energy Centre (CBEE), and vice president of the World Wind Energy Association (www.wwindea.org). A pioneer in the development of wind energy, he was responsible for the implementation of the very first wind turbine in the country in 1992, as well as the largest hybrid wind-diesel system in the Americas.
Eólica Tecnologia has been in operation in Brazil since 2000.
Our history is also the history of renewable energy in Brazil
1995
Eólica Tecnologia is responsible for the development of more than 70% of Brazil’s wind projects.
Starts the construction of the first Wind Farm of the Eólica Group: Alegria Wind Farm, with 92 turbines.
The wind farms
Gravatá (25 MW), Pedra do Reino (18 MW) and Pirauá (5 MW) starts operating
2004
Installation of the first wind turbine of Brazil, in OlindaPernambuco. Installation of the first wind turbine in Fernando de Noronha
2005 Eólica Tecnologia sells part of its projects to Pacific Hydro, CPFL and Életricité de France
2008 2010 2012
The largest Brazilian Wind Farm start operations: Alegria Wind Farm - 151 MW, in Guamaré - RN.
2011
The company’s founder, Dr Everaldo Feitosa, is elected vice-president of the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA)
“WindIntelli” launch: Wind Farm Monitoring Software. Developed 100% inhouse
The Eólica Group together with Furnas - Eletrobrás win the A-5 Auction promoted by the Federal Government with 274 MW of wind projects
2020
2022 New company headquarters in a building listed by the Historical Heritage Recife-PE/ Brazil
The company develops the PMSPerformance Monitoring System, a unique system to increase generation in wind power plants.
2015
Eólica Tecnologia wins the A-6 Auction 2017 for the implementation of the wind projects Ouro Branco-1, Ouro Branco-2 and Quatro Ventos
Starts the development of Project Sol Vermelho, the newest Eólica’s solar project
Eólica wins the Solar Energy Auction promoted by the Federal Government with 90 MW of the Boa Hora Complex
Installed in Olinda, Pernambuco State, Brazil.
Thanks to Eólica’s wind turbine it was possible to generate electricity for Olinda’s historical monuments.
UNESCO - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization –awarded Olinda the title of Cultural World Heritage Site in 1982.
Island located 400km from the coast. Pernambuco State, Brazil.
Eólica built the largest Wind-Diesel Hybrid System in South America, on the island of Fernando de Noronha.
*Fernando de Noronha is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site since 2001.
Eólica Tecnologia did the restoration of one of the oldest historical buildings in Brazil (17 th century). The main office captures the effervescence and inspiration of the time when Recife was the principal metropolis of the Americas.
In the basement of our office in Recife is an old wall built in the 17 th century to protect the city during the Dutch period (1630 - 1657). The origins of the settlement of Pernambuco date back to 1536 by the Portuguese Duarte Coelho Pereira (14801554). The Captaincy of Pernambuco was a gift from Dom João III, King of Portugal at the time.
The ruins of Recife’s founding site, just below Eólica’s head office building
Eólica Tecnologia has developed over 2,000 MW of wind and solar projects in several locations in the Northeast and other regions of Brazil. Our excellence in project development also brings excellence to the areas of Construction and Operation .

The main values of our team and company are: Agility, Versatility, Excitement, Trust, Courage and Ambition.
We are pioneers in Wind Energy operation in Brazil. Our pioneer spirit can also be felt in the creation of our original systems.
The actions of our Smart O&M (Operation & Maintenance) Systems results in more availability, quality, reliability and extension of the wind turbine´s lifetime. We are able to reduce maintenance costs and unplanned downtimes with systems developed and used exclusively by Eólica, such as:
. CMS – Condition Monitoring System
. PMS – Performance Monitoring System
System for monitoring the condition and operational health of the wind turbine based on the analysis of vibrations of its main components, which makes it possible to identify defects in advance.
Eólica Tecnologia has a Vibration-based Condition Monitoring System (CMS) on all wind turbines. The targets of the system are reduction of maintenance costs, increase of availability, avoidance of unplanned downtimes, improvement of quality & reliability and extend wind turbine’s lifetime.
Futhermore, Eólica Tecnologia has developed its own online system to treat and analyze automatically a large database from specific vibration data for all main components of the wind turbine. It works in three main steps: data acquisition using 8 sensors per turbine, signal processing/analysis with various techniques, and daily tracking/diagnosis. The system is also capable of generating reports and alarms identifying the fault and its location, maximizing reliability of Eólica Tecnologia’s wind farms.
Performance monitoring system for wind turbines based on operational data (SCADA system) to detect deviations and operating anomalies.
Eólica Tecnologia developed the Performance Monitoring System (PMS) as an effort to optimize the production and reduce O&M costs of its own wind farms. Data from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system (which records every possible operational characteristic of the wind turbines) is used as input to the performance monitoring solution. The data analysis of our PMS system is able to capture the true state of each wind turbine and detect performance issues, which in turn are readily informed to O&M manager that ensures their correction.
