Jive Talkin #1 June

Cool things to do this summer! The summer heat’s getting to all of us, some more than others. It’s raining in Hyderabad, its burning in Delhi and fortunately Chennai is cooling down. But with college out life is kind of boring most days. So AIESEC has some cool things for you to do this summer.

#1 Internship! Clichéd as it might seem in AIESEC an internship is by far the coolest thing to do. You could escape the Indian summer and trade it in for a wonderful internship experience. Spend 5 weeks and up in another country on the AIESEC network.

#2 CEED! The more “AIESECey” alternative to an internship when you go abroad for “work” related purposes. A CEED or a cultural envoy for exchange development is an opportunity to work in an AIESEC Chapter abroad in order to understand their exchange processes and facilitate partnerships with AIESEC Chennai.

#3 ILCEP! The local version of the CEED, the ILCEP or the Intra Local Committee Exchange Program is an excellent opportunity to work with our fellow AIESEC India LCs. The ILCEP is also a great way to understand the functioning of other portfolios in the AIESEC network.

#4 JNC! My personal favorite, June National Conference is a mid-year national analysis of performance and also the introduction of the new MC and the discharge of the old. JNC this year is being hosted near Delhi by AIESEC in Delhi IIT.

#5 Footprints! AIESEC Chennai’s first time in organizing this project, Footprints is geared up to create a great impact as a city wide Child Rights campaign. With a superb volunteer program titled “Making A Difference” or M.A.D, Footprints kicks off on 18th of June.

Workaholics Anonymous: The Footprints OC Project Footprints is the largest and most unique initiative of its kind, on a pan-India level, and is pursued, broadly speaking, to create a positive impact on the underprivileged child population in the city. The project spans five ‘Impact Weeks’ and, at the end of the fourth impact week, we will feature our trademark event – Balakalakaar (!!!) – through which we will seek to touch the lives of more than 7,000 underprivileged children! The Organising Committee for the project – The West Wind – is all set to launch the project on June 18th at 1.30pm and our excitement knows no bounds!! To share our excitement and joy, we would love it if members of the LC can contribute towards the project either physically, as a volunteer, or materially, in the form of cash or material donations. Please feel free to write to me at anirudhbelle.aiesec@gmail.com, or call me on 9884354240, if you feel you have the time or resources to contribute to leaving a footprint in the little minds we’d working with over the next few weeks. Looking forward to all the goodwill and support you can give!
