Places To Travel: Exotic Holiday Destinations There's no response to the question of where are the best places to visit on vacation. The initial question to ask isn't what spot to go but rather what sort of traveler have you been? What Sort of Traveler Are You? * Have you been a Phileas Fogg? Are you currently a global traveler who measures success by the number of countries visited? * Are you a Robinson Curuso? Would you take pleasure in the out from the way and off the beaten path? * Are you currently a Geoffery Chaucer? Is the trip more about the folks you travel with than the destination? * Are you currently a Henry David Thoreau? Is the ideal vacation just a peaceful place near home? There are lots of different traveling styles or different goals for travel. * You are able to go move away from it all. * You can go learn about a brand new culture. * You are able to happen to be the party. * You can go reconnect with family and friends. * You are able to travel for adventure. What is Your Travel Style / Budget? Some people prefer to stay in the home than remain in anyplace that did not need 5 stars. Others could not imagine remaining in anywhere more fancy than a youth hostel. Some who would love to remain at the fancy resort can't afford to. When you travel you'll need to determine your travel budget and style. What type of style you like will help determine where you can afford to visit and for how long. My spouse and I planned a visit to Hawaii before our first child was born. After considering our budget we'd to decide a road visit to San Diego will be a better option. One if by Land, Two if By Sea... Three if By Air? Do you prefer road trips? If so what about a domestic itinerary. If you want the outside or history you could visit national parks. If you want sports think about a tour of major or minor league ballparks. If you prefer big city lights would a visit to New York, Chicago or Las Vegas be within your range? Do you like cruises? Consider only packing and unpacking once and letting your hotel (ship) travel from port to port. From the East coast of the United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean are both

easily accessible. From the west coast, Mexico or Alaska offer very different vacations. If you like to fly and are able after that it Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America beckon. Europe offers familiarity for American visitors but with plenty of history. Europe offers destinations from the familiar London and Paris to less familiar destinations like Croatia, Slovenia and Estonia. You have to be willing to deal with another language or driving on one other side of the road. Africa offers unforgettable wildlife experiences or the wonders of ancient Egypt. Additionally, it offers ancient churches dug in to the rocks of Ethiopia or far off destinations like Timbuktu. It will demand many travels to get further outside their comfort zone. Asia offers ancient cultures and new economic powerhouses. Your trip might be to overwhelming places like New Delhi that will challenge even veteran travelers or safer more familiar destinations like Singapore. South America offers better exchange rates than Europe but less political stability. It provides European style cities like Buenos Aires or ancient Incan cities like Machu Picchu. A very important factor I have learned from hosting the Amateur Traveler for over three years is that there are lots of more places to visit than I'd originally considered. It had never occurred to me to: * Head to Tonga and swim with whales. * Start to see the stone churches in Ethiopia. * Do an evening tour of Petra in Jordan. * Begin to see the wild horses in Mongolia. The more I find out about travel the more places I wish to go. What is the better place to visit to? For me, it is obviously the following place. Chris Christensen is the host of the popular Amateur Traveler travel podcast. Places have Geographical features which are exclusive and unique. Places have existed for thousands of years and have accumulated a wealthy history and associated culture, art, architecture and folklore. It's difficult to see these through books or the internet. The places have to be traveled to have the authentic experience. At some point in life, after college, after retirement, during business trips, during holidays, a long trip outside your country of residence could make you see the planet for yourself. Having an increasingly global economy, the international travel experience is an asset which is often a major advantage in a competitive situation. There are known and important places which are frequently visited e.g. London, New York and major capitals of Europe and North America. These places have become an amalgamation of different cultures and visitors also develop Travel Channel into a the main same. However, near the same places and in exactly the same countries, are less known places which have a definite and unique culture and these exotic places have been in general more pleasurable mainly because what you see there is something new and about which very little has been written. The author writes

about such places predicated on his personal experiences during visits to these places.
