bUOYS Intelligent Ambient Infrastructure by the use of Buoys for Improving the Capacity, Efficiency, Safety and Security of inland-maritime Freight Transportation and its Sustainable Integration MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, TOURISM AND COMMERCE. TECHNICAl RESEARCH PROMOTION PROJECT (PROFIT). REFERENCE: FIT-340000-2006-24)

: The general objective of Project BUOYS is the development of an intelligent infrastructure for inland-maritime transport, allowing for an improvement in its capacity, efficiency, safety, security and level of service. At the same time, the project is expected to have significant repercussion on the Guadalquivir inland ecosystem, such as agrarian production, and the sustainable development of river transport compatible with the environment. To reach this objective, research and development in high availability embedded systems is necessary, requiring sensors and actuators, as well as other electronic devices and equipment, and Intelligent Ambient systems interconnected by a distributed middleware. Distributed Artificial Intelligent Software governs the applications by multi-agent system architecture, together with soft computing and bio-inspired programmes. AICIA is developing key aspects of the project associated to the hardware and the intelligent software needed for the creation of such intelligent maritime ambient. SERVIPORT ANDAlUCĂA, S.l. and ISOTROl, S.l. are partners of BUOYS, with AICIA as the leader.
