Pittsburgh Architecture Week

AIA Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Architecture Foundation launched Pittsburgh Architecture Week (PAW) this year, partnering with 14 local organizations to bring 16 events to the public. Though we are always excited by architecture, we wondered how many people would notice. What did we learn?

Pittsburgh is ready to talk about architecture! We received a Mayoral Proclamation honoring the event and our city’s architecture, attendees were engaged and learning at our events, and we attracted extensive media coverage, such as the following:

We brought back PechaKucha Night for PAW and had nearly 100 in attendance. Among other events, AIA Pittsburgh members led a tour and discussion of the adaptive reuse of buildings at Museum Lab, spoke to Assemble’s after school program, and engaged the audience at the Fall Home & Garden Show at the Convention Center. We expect to grow PAW incrementally as resources allow.
