Graduation Requirements To graduate from Ansonia Public Schools a student must successfully complete a minimum of twenty-five (25) credits and must meet the credit distribution requirements described below. Students must also meet basic skills standards in three areas: Literacy and Numeracy as measured through standardized testing and/or coursework, and Civic and Social Responsibility by the successful completion of the required civics course. Humanities - 9 credits minimum and must include: o English – 4 Credits (including English I, II, III and a full credit of senior English) o Social Studies – 3 Credits (including U.S. History and Civics) o Humanities Electives - 2 Credits STEM - 9 credits minimum and must include: o Mathematics - 4 Credits o Science - 3 Credits o STEM elective - 2 Credits Life Skill - 1 credit and must include: o Computer Literacy- .5 Credits o Financial Literacy - .5 Credits World Language - 1 credit Physical Education - 1 credit Health & Safety - 1 credit (Personal Health I & II) Mastery Based Diploma Assessment - 1 credit (Freshman Seminar) Additional Electives - 2 credits
