2009 Pre Harvest

Page 1

Pre‐Harvest 2009 Newsletter Summer is progressing well in the vineyard. This will be our first year as a bonded winery. As you all know, we have been a home winemaking family for five years, making wine as a hobby. This is our big step, it’s official, we are making the leap into the winery business. The vines are looking healthy and happy, the grapes a work of art. Verison is in the progress and almost complete. We’ve been enjoying walking through the vineyard managing the canopy of our estate grown Cabernet. The years of learning have progressed and hopes are high for a high quality fruit. We are preparing for harvest, checking the equipment, sharpening the pruners and ordering supplies we may need. We are continuing with the goal of having a flagship Big and Bold Zinfandel, our quest to find the right vineyard to source grape from continues. We are making contacts with other grape growers to purchase a single ton of grapes. Visiting the vineyards and monitoring the grapes is a big part of choosing the ideal harvest time. Checking the TA (Titratable Acid), pH and Brix as we do our own grapes. Harvest is quickly approaching, time to notify our friends and family of the harvest dates and get them to pencil us on the calendar. We will send out statuses weekly letting everyone know the grapes progress, so check your email frequently if you don’t Tweet or FB. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook if you use, for most up to date winery action and events. Cheers till Harvest, Climbing Monkey's Winery
