LOS AYALA A family tradition for decades
A
tourist destination that offers families a one kilometre beach to fully enjoy the gentle waves that have made it famous as a place to vacation with smaller children, due to the calmness of its tides. For the tourist comfort there are hotel rooms and bungalows with equipped kitchen, refrigerator, AC, and cable tv. A small home close to the beach at affordable prices, where families can prepare their meals,
enjoy the food offered in the restaurants at the beach or enjoy the popular fish and shrimp kebabs sold at the shoreline. Departing boating tours to neighbouring beaches, going around the bay or to Crab and Coral Island, are offered by sales agents on the beach. These agents will also find you paddle boards, tables, umbrellas, jet skies and other sea sport goods.
Miraculous
VIRGIN MARY
T
he submerged statue of Virgin Mary in the channel between Coral Island and Rincon de Guayabitos is Jaltemba Bay’s tourists, fishermen, divers, and sailors guardian. Also one of the attractions of our region. In the voice of towns folk diverse miracles are attributed to it. It was placed there by the boaters association as part of the Coral Island Project, in a spot where it can be seen from the glass bottom in the boats that offer the bays tour. Every year the sculpture is taken out of the water for cleaning purposes and then submerged into the deep again, a special date for the community that varies according to climate conditions.

GUAYABITOS OPENS its remodelled stage in the main plaza
A
s a result of the negotiations led by the Compostela’s Hotel Association president, Dr. Alejandro Chåvez Bustos, and the support of the municipal, state and federal authorities, the remodelling of Guayabitos main plaza was achieved. The redesigning included the construction of a stage with dressing rooms for artistic performances. Also an area was provided with exercise apparel for adults and another one for children.

allejo’s Sierra in the municipality of Compostela offers a wide variety of landscapes with its diversity of green and multicolor forests and woods. In the upper zone is where the Nuevo Ixtlán spa is located. This eco-touristic facility consists of 31 thermal pools sheltered by the shade of the Capomo trees. The premises are cared for by the members of the Ejido Las Cañadas, who by a small fee allow visitors to enjoy the virtues of the warm water as it flows toward the river through a winding path. From the 200 federal highway, turn at the town of Altavista (between Las Varas and La Peñita de Jaltemba) the first kilometres are paved and later you continue on a dirt road until a fork where there are signs to reach Altavista to the
left and to Nuevo Ixtlán to the right, from there you continue for about 17 kilometres following a colourful path until you cross the town of La Cucaracha, two kilometres later you’ll find a sign that indicates a left turn and that will lead you to this very unique destination surrounded with wilderness.
CORAL ISLAND
A
beautiful island surrounded by turquoise blue, emerald ocean. Located in front of the villages of Guayabitos, Los Ayala and La Peñita, this tourist attraction invites our visitors to snorkel or scuba dive to discover its natural aquarium. The immense number of fish concentrated in its shores, is the result of an effort from the community that has been able to attain for the isle, the status of natural protected reserve. The beach in the island has been certified as clean. There’s an amazing landscape view from this perspective, of the bay’s mainland. Besides from its underwater fauna it’s an important refuge for pelicans, frigates and booby birds.
RINCÓN DE GUAYABITOS IS REVALIDATED AS A CERTIFIED CLEANING BEACH
N
ayarit is a national leader for certified clean beaches since it counts with 12 certified beaches with the NMX120-SCFI-2006 SEMARNAT norm in the Rivera Nayarit. Besides from two Blue Flag recognitions, the area of Compostela has been awarded 4 certifications as clean beaches, Rincón de Guayabitos, Chacala, Isla del Coral y Platanitos. This tourist destinations were visited by the auditors from the Mexican Institute for the Normalisation and Certification of Beaches,IMNC. This institute’s purpose is to supervise and confirm that the hygiene and the quality of services meet the established norms. They supervise the beaches every year to renew the certification and Guayabitos was approved again in 2017.

he most important event in our tourist destination will celebrate its 13th birthday, surprising our visitors with the presence of international performers in every new edition, all Saturdays during the month of February. The entrance to enjoy this variety of musicians, singers, mexican and international orchestras, circus performers and new regional talents, is free. The festival is sponsored by the Compostela Hotel Association with the support of the Fideicomiso de PromociĂłn TurĂstica de Nayarit and the Consejo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Nayarit.

he first sunday of each month the coastal community receives thousands of pilgrims who visit Zacualpan to thank the divine child Jesus for the favors received. To recount that their devotion has made great changes in their lives, to convert into becoming a family tradition. The veneration of the religious image brought from Colombia by the priest Marcos Arana Delgado about 15 years ago, to which many miracles are attributed over the years. Sharing their faith and expressing their testimonies out loud, highlighting the intercession of the divine child Jesus in various circumstances and adverse events in their families. For this reason thousands of faithfuls come from different places to venerate the image with genuine catholic passion and enthusiasm. With 20 years of stories and anecdotes the camp offers its visitors the opportunity to be part of the liberation of new born hatchlings, educating and illustrating about the life cycle of the species, why it is in danger of extinctionand how humans can save them, all in an experience in balance wiht the environment, is operated by the Civil Association Ecologist Group of Nayarit chaired by Ricardo Villaseñor Lamas. The group does patrol work to detect and observe turtle hatchlings and protect them; approximately 500 nests per season are found and protected.

aking advantage of its Geographical location and climatological condition, that allow for open air activities all year long, Rincón de Guayabitos is being consolidated as the site for important events. Some already have become a tradition like the Vochomanía or the aquatic marathon ABH and others such as the athletic race 5, 10 kilometres with its recreative colour 3k addition are on their third edition. Yet probably most popular has been its Tours and Youth Festival of Beach Volleyball. Rincón de Guayabitos has seen the growth of this sport during the last three years with at least six events,

being the most important the Mexican Tour of Beach Volleyball and the young Children and Youth Beach Volleyball Festival, expanding from only 24 couples in the first tournament to 125 in the most recent event. With its sand, climate and atmosphere conditions, Guayabitos has become one of the preferred locations for the teams that practice this sport, from the micro players that visited in the Festival, to Olympic figures such as Juan Virgen y Lombardo Ontiveros, that have been greatly satisfied and surprised with our natural conditions and organization.
GUAYABITOS at the forefront of technology of beach cleaning
W
ith the idea of offering better beaches to its visitors, the tourist destination thrives with two specialized machines for the cleansing of beaches, a cleaning machine manufactured by Cherrington model 5450 that was acquired by the authorities with the ZOFEMATÂ Â (Federal maritime and terrestrial areas) Funding and a Beach-Tech beach sweeper that belongs to the Compostela Hotel Association. These Avant-guard technological equipment was reinforced with the acquisition of a 4 x 4 tractor, so that the infrastructure for maintaining the beach clean never stops, and the visitors that come to our beaches can enjoy them at their fullest potential.

I
n this tourist destination you’ll find a wide variety of food offered for all tastes and wallets. There are sites to enjoy traditional Mexican dishes and others of delicate elaboration.
