What did we learn?

Fall Semester

Throughout the Fall semester, we focused on reproductive health rights and what we could do in order to raise money, awareness, and resources for women who had little to no access to reproductive health care.

What did we learn?

Spring Semester

Throughout the Spring semester, we focused on mental health and spent time gaining knowledge on the issue, raising awareness, giving back to those who struggle with mental illnesses, and exploring our own activities that we find helpful to decompress and support our own mental health.

Spike 4 Rights!

RaisingAwareness and money for Reproductive Rights!

With this event, we were able to raise $275 for Planned Parenthood and feminine hygiene products to donate to reproductive health centers for the women who don’t have access to feminine products or affordable reproductive healthcare.

Reproductive Healthcare Seminar

As a team, we viewed and analyzed the seminar regarding the passing of a bill that would restrict abortion rights and it provided information and opinions that proved to serve as an incredible conversation that ended with a respectful conclusion.

Panel Discussion w/ Nurse Midwife

Jeanie Summerville, a nurse midwife in Jacksonville, Florida, spoke to us about her experience in the field of reproductive health care and the struggles she endured throughout her time helping new mothers.

We all contributed at least two questions to a document that were asked to the speaker and led to an educated discussion with the utmost respect for the issue and speaker throughout the meeting.

TedTalk Viewing

As a team, we viewed and analyzed the effect of trauma on the brain and how it affects behaviors in certain individuals. John Rigg did an incredible job explaining the complexity of the human mind and its relationship with behaviors that are portrayed, especially in children.

Cookingwith Care

In an attempt to decompress after a long day of work, we gathered to cook a meal as a team and talk about our feelings.

Studies show that cooking can be very relaxing and therapeutic when stressed, so we wanted to try a new way to cope with the stress of being a college student who also works.

What we’re looking forward to!

Affirmation Card Creation

We will come together and spend some time creating colorful, fun, happy cards that will be filled with positive affirmations and words of encouragement that will be given to children in foster care and who currency reside in a residential treatment center.

Panel Discussion w/ Program Manager @ Residential Treatment Center
