Foreword In June, GreenTech will take place in Amsterdam. GreenTech is the platform for horticultural professionals to exchange ideas and have a conversation about current affairs in the field. We look forward to exchanging views with you about new opportunities that are arising through the use of new cultivation techniques and responding to innovations within our industry, while also looking at what is happening in other industries. In the R&D field, Van der Hoeven has been working on building conditioned greenhouses in hot humid climates. During the coming GreenTech, we hope to show a new step towards creating a greenhouse that functions well in those climate zones. We hope we will have a chance to meet you at the RAI exhibitions centre on the 14th,15th or 16th of June! (Register here for your free ticket)

Green Camel – Future farming 1,500 m², Cobbitty, Australia, nursery and ModulAIR greenhouse Green Camel is located in a fast growing suburb of Sydney. It is a "Future Farming" project that produces organic herbs and fish. Green Camel comprises an already existing 5,000 m² greenhouse. Van der Hoeven is responsible for a nursery and a ModulAIR greenhouse including screening, heating and gutters. The ModulAIR greenhouse serves as a test site for organic tomato cultivation. Seeds are grown to young plants, which then go into the existing greenhouse. The nursery and ModulAIR greenhouse are both coupled to the existing aquaculture system, which produces Barramundi fish. That type of fish is especially suitable for farming; within seven months they grow into 30 cm fish, weigh around 800 grams and are ready for fish markets serving Chinese restaurants. Green Camel can produce 15,000 kg of Baramundi and 130,000 kg of green vegetables annually on only 5,000 m² of land. A prime example of Future Farming!

Germany, 25.000 m² of young plants In Autumn 2015 Anthura Arndt, the German branch of Anthura, celebrated its 20-year anniversary and at the same time, they celebrated starting operations in the 25,000 m² extension realised by Van der Hoeven. That extension has brought the company's current operational area up to around 78,000 m². Under branch manager Fred Kruisselbrink's inspiring leadership, the project's very tight construction schedule was completed in time. Since it was the 11th time in succession that Van der Hoeven had built at various locations for Anthura, a celebratory gift seemed appropriate and thus we had a special table football game built for the occasion, with Dutch and German outfits.

GreenTech 14 - 16 June 2016

We would like to congratulate Anthura on this anniversary. Meanwhile, we received the 12th assignment to extend their greenhouse complex by 15,000 m², which will be completed shortly.

Van der Hoeven builds a greenhouse at the Antalya Expo The Turkish Antalya Expo opened in April and will be finished at the end of October 2016. The theme "Cultivating a Green Life for Future Generations" is a natural fit to the horticultural sector and that was why Van der Hoeven was happy to address the request for building a greenhouse on the Expo ground.

Ekibastuz 50,058 m² Turnkey, Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan, roses Ekibastuz 50,058 m² Turnkey, Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan, roses Last year Van der Hoeven built a turnkey horticultural project in the north of Kazakhstan. Since November 2015, it has been producing roses primarilyLeaving for export to neighbouring Russia. Van der service: Hoeven created a client specific design to suit the extreme climatic conditions. They took account of the constant permafrost in the ground and the heating installation is calculated to handle -41 Karina Verweij as of 01-01-2016 degrees. The greenhouse is equipped with diffusion glass, lighting a fully automatic irrigation Dennis van and Slingerland as of 01-03-2016 system. Residual heat from a neighbouring power station provides heating. steam comes from Xander Corveleijn asThe of 01-03-2016 the power plant at 285 degrees and a steam to water heat-exchanger brings it to the desired temperatures for use in the greenhouse. There is a backup boiler to cover the eventuality of a power plant shut down. Besides design and delivery of materials, Van der Hoeven took responsibility for all the construction and installation on this project. A team of Dutch, Ukrainian and Kazakh builders took care of realising the project in time. And even more importantly, it was possible to harvest roses for the important celebration of women's day in Russia on March 8th. In addition to the realised project in Ekibastuz, Van der Hoeven is currently building another greenhouse in Kazakhstan. That project is located near the more southerly city of Almaty. The projects in Ekibastuz and Almaty clearly show that Van der Hoeven is an exceptionally suitable partner for turnkey projects in Kazakhstan and that is why Van der Hoeven joined the international exhibition "Greenhouses – Vegetable growing and stores – Irrigation 2016" in Almaty last month.
