Appleby Farms, Worcestershire runs seven Traditional Hereford bulls over his three-way cross dairy herd.

“We run seven Traditional Hereford bulls over our 580 cow dairy herd. The initial bulls bought in 2018 are still working 5 years on. They walk 4 miles a day when out with the cows and are agile in the cubicles reducing the need for AI during housed periods. We find that the Traditional Hereford bull produces calves that are in demand due to their easy fleshing qualities. The combination of fertility, docility, and most importantly calving ease has revolutionised our system.”
