INDUSTRY MOVES Recent senior job moves within the global animal nutrition industry

The ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN FEED CONTROL OFFICIALS (AAFCO) has appointed Austin Therrell as its new executive director.

Megan Britt joined ADM as vice president, Investor Relations. ADM’s Board of Directors has also elected Jim Collins, former CEO of Corteva, to the Board.

BASF ANIMAL NUTRITION has appointed Dr. Sven Karsten Weber to lead its Feed Enzymes and Feed Performance Ingredients unit.

Precision biotics firm BIOZYME® INC announced Peter Windhausen, Ph.D., as the newest Business Development and Innovation Manager for its International Team. Dr. Windhausen has spent the past 25 years working in livestock nutrition marketing and sales, mostly for DSM.

Alternative protein producer CALYSTA has appointed Herman Sloot as its new VP of Commercial Development to target opportunities in the pet and human food sectors.

Arnold de Jong started as Operations Manager at MCFA manufacturer ChainCraft this July.

Two new CEOs were appointed at the German Agricultural Society, DLG. Dr. Lothar Hövelmann was appointed Chief CEO of DLG and Freya von Czettritz CEO of DLG Holding GmbH.

EVONIK has appointed Dr. Gaetano Blanda as its new head of the Animal Nutrition business line, taking over the role from Dr. Emmanuel Auer. Evonik has also appointed Joerg Syrzisko as its new Head of Middle East & Africa. Syrzisko will succeed Dr. Hendrik Schoenfelder as Head of MEA Cluster. Dr. Schoenfelder, meanwhile, will lead Evonik Central & South America.

FORFARMERS announced that its CEO, Chris Deen, will be absent for a longer period of time due to health reasons. Roeland Tjebbes and Pieter Wolleswinkel, respectively CFO and COO and members of the executive board of ForFarmers, will temporarily take over the tasks and responsibilities of the CEO.

59-year-old Bent Nissen became the new CEO of DLG Group’s German agribusiness company HAGE on July 1. He takes over the job from Henrik Madsen, who has decided to leave HaGe. DENMARK’S HAMLET PROTEIN has appointed Poul Jørgensen as CFO.

HENDRIX GENETICS has appointed Richard Maatman as its Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Executive Committee. Following a period of transition, in 2023 Richard will be appointed Chief Executive Officer of Hendrix Genetics, succeeding Antoon van den Berg.

HUVEPHARMA has promoted Drew Weir from Director of Integrator Business to Vice President of Sales.

INNOVAFEED has announced that Yves Amsellem has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer (COO). InnovaFeed has also appointed Maye Walraven as Innovafeed’s General Manager for North America, a newly created role.

KEMIN INDUSTRIES has named Kimberly Nelson, a thirdgeneration member of Kemin’s founding family, as president of Kemin Nutrisurance, the company’s pet food and rendering technologies business unit.

MARS PETCARE has appointed Alejandro Cedeno to the Mars Pet Nutrition North America leadership team as Senior Vice President of Research & Development (R&D). It also appointed Nick Foster as General Manager of ROYAL CANIN UK and Ireland following 14 years in senior roles within the company.

Fermentation-based feed additives company METEX announced in late July the appointment of Laurent Bastian as CFO.

Katie Hirtle joined NOVUS INTERNATIONAL, INC. this month as the senior sales specialist for Eastern Canada.

Ashish Pande has been appointed as Country Head of Olam Agri in Nigeria, after describing him as “instrumental in establishing Olam Agri’s animal feed business”.

Insect ingredients firm PROTIX announced that Einar Wathne and Bert Pauli were joining the advisory board this July. Wathne is the former CEO of EWOS and president of Cargill Aqua Nutrition, while Pauli has worked with the company between 2013 and 2019 on deregulation of the insect nutrition industry.
